Two Important Reminders!
#1- It is VERY important that you check your
membership card for the expiration date! You MUST
renew during the month you joined or lose your $10
renewal discount. You will then have to pay the full $50
dues.
#2- Show your membership card at the door every Wednesday! It is helpful for the new folks.
Spring has sprung! Days are getting longer. The robins are back. The flowers are breaking through the frozen
earth--I even have crocuses in bloom. But wait.... As I write this column, I look out my window and what do I see--
-SNOW, the white flakes falling from the sky! The stuff we are SO tired of by now! The weather we hope is short
lived, that makes us say "This is the last"!
Even though March and April are very fickle months in terms of weather outside, spring is definitely blossoming
inside our dance club. We open the month with our board meeting, April 1st at 6:15 PM. All are welcome to
attend. Frank Gulitz and Joyce Smolen are teaching an intermediate Nightclub Two Step class during the month of
April. Beginners and Beyond East Coast Swing will be offered upstairs with John and Penny Inks.
Our deejays will be supplying us with a variety of songs each week. They deserve a pat on the back for all they
do. Arriving early and staying late to set up the music equipment, making their playlists, and spinning the tunes
each and every Wednesday. Thank you Lou, Dave, Roy, Fred, and Jerry! You guys are the greatest!!
Traditionally, our second Wednesday is our birthday cake night. We extend a special thank you to Karen
Mounts who not only brings the cake, but serves it as well. Don't forget to wear your club shirt that night. We do
have some red shirts available for view. If you are interested, please see me any Wednesday night.
What better way to celebrate Spring than with our "Baseball Home Opener"! The grill will be fired up by Barry
Gradwohl and his crew. Support your favorite team by wearing caps, shirts, etc on April 15th.
Our annual spring dance, Spring Fever, will be held at Silver Springs Lodge on Friday, April 24th. Regardless of
the weather that day, Kap Chermak and her committee will provide a hint of spring on the inside. Tickets are on
sale for fifteen dollars and can be obtained any Wednesday night at club or by sending a check with your order to
our PO Box. See flyer in this newsletter for more details. The Spring Fever event will bring you dancing on a
beautiful wood floor, fun and friendship of club members and guests, and a scrumptious meal--all for a mere
fifteen dollars.
These events are all made possible by the generosity of members to volunteer to work on committees. YOU are
what makes ONCJC a great club. Mary Ellen Schonover and her committee outdid themselves at our recent St
Patrick's Day celebration. They told me they had a great time presenting it. Please consider signing up to help out
on any one of the numerous events we have planned for this year.
