Objective and purpose of the project

Overall Objective To contribute to protection of health and security of Serbia by implementing the Strategy and the Action Plan on Drugs 2009-2013 in line with the “EU Drugs Action Plan for 2009-2012”.

Project Purpose To upgrade the system for the prevention of drug abuse and to fight production, trafficking and distribution of drugs in Serbia in accordance with EU standards.

implementation of procedures for functioning of a national system for drugs and narcotic substance

Component 2: “Improvement of the capacity

of institutions in charge of drug control”

operation of sustainable drug

•Training module C:- Issuing permits for import, export, and transit of narcotic drugs- Risk management, information management,- Regime for medicines containing narcotic and substances

•Formulation of training curricula for law enforcement experts dealing with drug crime

Trainings in prevention:- Documentation /best practices/ recommendation/standards- Evaluation- Capacity building

Activity 3.4 Workshops

Training of police dealing with drug prevention in schools- Topics: cooperation with schools, procedures, medical issues, early identification of drug abuse, “problem children”


Strengthening the system of monitoring of drug situation –esp. GPS, TDI, DRDs

Activity 3.6 Study visit

Study visit to country with well developed system of drug prevention and monitoring


Component 4Activity 4.1 Workshops

Strengthening the legislative framework of the system of substance use prevention

Activity 4.2 Workshop

Drafting of National Drug Strategy for 2014 – 20XX in line with EU recommendations- Evaluation of current Strategy- Focus groups, questionnaires- Roundtable


Development, printing and distribution of drug prevention material Target groups: youngsters, parents, teachers


Prepare and distribute guidelines for general drug prevention activities for all stakeholders


Need assessment and development of a curricular for treatment professionals

Activity 4.6Trainings

Trainings for health professional (according to outcomes of Activity 4.5)


Summary

• Broad scope: both supply and demand reduction, from monitoring to policy making

• Broad target audience, number of participants• Altogether ‘just’ 22 activities, but much more

meetings, trainings, workshops...• 18 months of intensive and collective work

ahead
