If you were at the Tescott Fall Program on Tuesday, Oc-
tober 27th, you might have thought you were at a Battle
of the Bands; or swimming with the fish off the shores of
Hawaii; or maybe at a jazz concert. There was some-
thing for everybody at our latest concert! The 5th and
6th grade bands got things off to a great start! Even
though they’ve only been playing for a few months, the
5th graders’ “Old MacDonald Had a Band” and “Hard
Rock Blues”. “Five Black and Hairy Bats” was a reminder from Pre-
School , Kindergarten and 1st grade that Halloween is just around the
corner. Kindergarten and 1st grade danced to “Old Brass Wagon” be-
fore being joined by 2nd grade for our journey to Hawaii:
“Humuhumunukunukuapua’a” transported the audience to the beach
of Waikiki for a swim with this fish with the very long name! 3rd and
4th grades took us to the set of “Glee” with their version of “Lean on
Me/Don’t Stop Believing.” Carrie Underwood would have
been proud of their singing on “Play On”, and the audience
LOVED their singing and dancing to “I gotta Feelin” by
Black-Eyed Peas. 5th and 6th graders got a taste of compos-
ing. They wrote and performed category raps about sports,
roller coasters, soda pop, states and amusement parks. Add-
ing movement to their songs added the finishing touch!
Guitar skills took center stage when the 7th grades per-
formed on this classic instrument. “Ode to Joy”, “Au
Claire de la Lune”, and “Rock Around the Clock”
showed off their chord and melody playing. Kara and
Kaitlynn shared a duet on “Yankee Doodle” with our
audience. The evening came to a wonderful end with the
premier performance of the high school Jazz Band. “Say
What?” and “Tickle Ya”, featuring Wade Stimatze on alto sax, sent the audience on their
way with some “rhythm in their step.” Thanks to everyone involved for a great program!
We look forward to seeing everybody again in December!
The Bulldogs celebrated homecoming
on October 15th. This years home-
coming queen candidates were Kaci
Copas, Sadie Gantvoort and Shelby
Modin. The King candidates were

lan Swanson. The 1st grade attendants
were Benjamin Stanley and Lauryn
Betts.

Oscar Day At Tescott Grade School!
Friday, September 30th was OSCAR day at Tescott Elementary. Students were
awarded for reaching their reading goals. Pictured with Mrs. Ouderkirk is Rem-
ington one of our top readers. Way to go Remington! The students enjoyed
reading with a partner and other reading activities that morning after the awards
were presented.
TJH VB Ends Season
Tescott wrapped up the 2010 Junior High Volleyball Season with a pair of losses at
Little River, and then a loss in the opening round of the Twin Lakes VB tourna-
ment. Tescott lost to Lincoln, 15-25 and 21-25 at a triangular meet in Little River.
Tescott played very competitively in this match, but we missed too many serves to
take the victory. “Every time we scored three straight points, we missed the next
serve. We always stopped our own momentum.” In the second contest, Tescott
was defeated by Little River 9-25 and 1-25. Little River is a very talented team,
with several good servers and spikers. “Little river played a very a very aggressive
game, which we were not ready for.” The highlight of this night, was the Junior
Varsity team maintained their undefeated record for the season. We won 8
matches and tied 3. time restraints did not allow the completion of all matches. The JV team consisted of 7th
graders Kyra Bieker, Kait King and Kara Rieth. The 6th grader are Hunter Cole, Terri Giersch, Maddi Small
and Monica Towery. In the League Tournament, Tescott faced a rematch with Lincoln. We played val-
iantly, but lost by the score of 12-21 and 5-21. The highlight of this match was the passing of Loren Herbel
and Tesla Madsen, they combined for 16 perfect passes. These two 8th grade girls became our best passers
during the season, and we will need to have some new players step up next year to become leaders on the
court. “Thanks to all the parents and fans that attended our volleyball games this season. We hope to see you
at the basketball games this winter and at more volleyball contests next fall. Also thanks to the newspaper and
internet sites for posting these articles. Finally thanks to Jane Small for being our assistant. We did not win
as many matches as last year, but the season was fun, and the individual improvement was great. It was a
very rewarding season of us.” Comments by Coach Facklam.
Mrs. Abell's 3rd Graders
Mrs. Abell’s 3rd Grade has done it again! With the help of
Mrs. Good and Mrs. Castillo, the third graders at Tescott have
once again tapped into the wonderful world of Skype. They
had the opportunity to meet and talk with Joanne Kaminski, a
private reading tutor from Sussex, WI. Mrs. Kaminski read a
Halloween story, and shared personal experiences with the
students.
