Twilight Quilters’ Guild of Norfolk County Newsletter Meeting: January 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: As I write this message on the first morning of the new decade, I can only think of how fortunate we are! In the last 24 hours, I spent three hours with like-minded women in Enjoying yoga and meditation that nourishes mind and body and spirit. We also spoke of ways we can help to save our planet. Another few hours were spent at a New Year’s Eve party, enjoying some of the wonderful music of the past, and all the memories that holds for us. CALLING ALL QUILTERS Julie Hammond, as a quilter and a representative of the Norfolk County Fair has asked at both the Norfolk County Quilters Guild and the Twilight Quilts Guild if we could possibly do a display of hand quilting for the Fair? She has had very little response. As Guild quilters our Mission is to promote and teach the art of quilting for future generations. Julie and Shirley are very involved working at the fair already But,"..........I have a plan and with YOUR help we can do it Space we would have approx 12’x15’ space at the front of the home craft to set up a quilt frame and a table You don’t have to be an expert hand quilter We can have at least two people per each two hour shift, to sit and hand quilt, or other had work and talk with fair goers about what we love to do What a great way to promote quilting, our Guilds, the upcoming Quilt show and Norfolk County. Our quilting groups include around two hundred organized quilters. I will need as many as possible of you to volunteer to help. Julie tells me that volunteers will be provided a pass for admission and parking. I hope we can also display some of outreach projects too What I need right now is a show of support from all so we can get this organized. If you are interested and can give us a hand and do a shift or two. Please send me an email as soon as possible to [email protected] Just leave your name and the message “ I’m in” Thanks so much Terry Anderson
