WEEKLY MASS AT ATLANTA VA MEDICAL CENTER All Catholics are invited to attend the weekly Monday Mass at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033. Mass begins at 11:30AM. Many of our Catholic veterans do not have family or visitors and look to the church for pastoral care. This weekly Mass is celebrated for the wellbeing and spiritual support of veterans from all branches. By attending Mass and through prayer, we show our appreciation for the dedicated service of our veterans, lifting their spirits in prayerful solidarity. For more infor-mation, please contact Fr. 2016 AACCW CONVENTION The Archdiocese of Atlanta Council of Catholic Women (AACCW) is inviting the priests of the Archdiocese of Atlanta to the Opening Mass of the 2016 Convention and 60th Anniversary. It will be held at the Atlanta Marriott North West, 200 Interstate North Parkway Atlanta, off of Windy Hill Road, on Friday, September 16th at 7:00 p.m. There will be a light reception following the Mass. JUST FAITH/JUST MATTERS: Lourdes, in fellowship with neighboring parishes, is offering two opportunities to deep-en your faith in a challenging and life-changing experience: JustMatters: Church of Second Chances shares the sto-ries of incarcerated people and exposes injustices in the judicial system through the lens of faith. This small faith community will explore justice reform and restoration in a prayerful environment that invites personal transfor-mation. SEPTEMBER IS PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS MONTH . Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men, no matter of race or ethnicity . it is the second most common cause of death from cancer among white, African American , American Indian / Alaska Native , and Hispanic men . What are the symptoms of prostate cancer? Many men with prostate cancer often have no symptoms. If symptoms appear, they can include: blood in the urine; the need to urinate frequently, especially at night; weak or interrupted urine flow; pain or burning feeling while urinating; the inability to urinate; constant pain in the lower back, pelvis, or upper thighs. If you have any of these symptoms, see your doctor as soon as possible.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TRAINING WORKSHOP There will be a mandatory training for ALL Eucharistic Ministers on Saturday, September 17th, 2016 from 10AM- 12PM in the church. If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion, you are welcome to attend this session. You must be 18 years of age and a practicing Catholic.
LEGISLATIVE INFORMATION SESSION Do you know what the Opportunity School District will be? What do you know about Senate Resolution 7? There will be an amendment concerning each of these on the November 8th ballot. The Social Action Committee is sponsoring a Legislative Information Session on Sunday, September 25th after the 10AM Mass so that you can be informed on these two issues and can vote wisely.
