High School CCD and Confirmation classes will resume next Sunday, October 9th at 6:00 PM. Confirmation candidates and, hopefully, one of their parents, will have an initial meeting with me and the Confirmation Staff in the gym. We will outline the goals and expectations of our program, the paperwork that must be completed, the requirements of a sponsor, and dates of the classes and mandatory retreat. This meeting will last less than one hour. Ninth and tenth grades students will have their regular class from 6:00 - 7:00. After almost 10 years of dedicated and faithful service as our 9th grade CCD teacher, Cathy Adamczyk is taking a sabbatical. We are so fortunate that Andrew Boyd volunteered to fill this position. His knowledge, and seminary experiences will ensure that his students learn a great deal and have the seeds of a religious vocation planted in their hearts. Our 10th grade class is taught by veteran teacher, Sabina Snyder whose creativity keeps her students actively engaged in her presentations. Assisting me with the Confirmation Program are Rennae DiRaimo, Lois Lintelman, and Jill Wells. I’m grateful to these individuals for giving so much of their time and talent to help foster the Faith in the hearts of our young parishioners. A word of appreciation and affirmation goes out to our organists and cantors for their guidance and direction in preparing us for the new musical setting that will become mandatory with the implementation of the Roman Missal on the First Sunday of Advent. A thank you goes out to the following people who attended the recent organizational meeting for the Craft Show: Jane Olowin, Michele Dean, Bonnie Kern, Debbie Slupski, Debbie Thomas, Nancy Veshecco, Diane Knight, Maryann Straneva, Judy Walker, and Cathy Schaaf. We got a lot accomplished that evening. If you can give us a hand on Nov. 5th or 6th, please call Jane Olowin at 898-1088. The winner of last month’s Sunday Breakfast 50/50/ was Konner McCurdy. Flu shots will be administered this Monday, October 3rd from 9:00 - 1:00 and from 3:00 - 6:00 at St. James Place. During the Month of October the Rosary will be prayed each Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the Mothers’ Chapel. Pax et Bonum, Fr. McCormick
