    TWENTY-NINTH SUNDAY of the Year

    PARISH MASS

  • 2

    ENTRANCE HYMN ll people that on earth do dwell, sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;

    Him serve with fear, His praise forth tell; come ye before Him and rejoice. 2 The Lord, ye know is God indeed; without our aid He did us make; we are His flock, He doth us feed, and for His sheep He doth us take.

    3 O enter then His gates with praise, approach with joy His courts unto; praise, laud, and bless His name always, for it is seemly so to do. 4 For why? The Lord our God is good, His mercy is forever sure; His truth at all times firmly stood and shall from age to age endure.

    To Father, Son and Holy Ghost, The God whom Heaven and earth adore, From men and from the angel host Be praise and glory evermore. Amen.

    THE HOLY GOSPEL Matt 22 15-21

    Please SIT for the Homily

    THE PROFESSION OF FAITH STAND

    believe in one God, the Father almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

    I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary BOW and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

    he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

    I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen

    THE PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL

    Lord, hear us. OR Lord, in your mercy.

    Lord, graciously hear us. Hear our prayer.

    Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

    Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

    THE LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST

    As the Altar is prepared we sing the following hymn

    We pray thee, heavenly Father, To hear us in thy love, And pour upon thy children The unction from above; That so in love abiding, From all defilement free, We may in pureness offer Our Eucharist to thee. All that we have to offer, For it is all thine own, All gifts, by thine appointment, In bread and cup are shown; One thing alone we bring not, The wilfulness of sin, And all we bring is nothing Save that which is within.

    Within the pure oblation, Beneath the outward sign, By that his operation, – The Holy Ghost divine, – Lies hid the sacred Body, Lies hid the precious Blood, Once slain, now ever glorious, Of Christ our Lord and God. Wherefore, though all unworthy To offer sacrifice, We pray that this our duty Be pleasing in thine eyes; For praise, and thanks and worship, For mercy and for aid, The Catholic oblation Of Jesus Christ is made.

    – V. S. S. Coles, 1845-1929

    Pray, my brothers and sisters, that our sacrifice may be acceptable to God the almighty Father.

    May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his holy Church.

    PRAYER OVER THE OBLATION

  • 8

    The celebrant continues with the Eucharistic prayer until we sing:

    We all KNEEL as the Celebrant continues with the Eucharistic Prayer.

    After the Lord’s words are said over the bread and the chalice we use the following response:

  • 9

    The mystery of faith: hen we eat this bread and drink this cup, We proclaim your death, Lord Jesus until you come in glory.

    Until you come in glory. At the end of the prayer the priest sings or says:

    Through him with him and in him …. Amen.

    COMMUNION RITE

    THE LORD’S PRAYER STAND

    At the Saviour’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

    ur Father, Who art in heaven
 Hallowed be Thy Name;

    Thy kingdom come,
 Thy will be done,
 on earth as it is in heaven.
 Give us this day our daily bread,
 and forgive us our trespasses,
 as we forgive those who trespass against us;
 and lead us not into temptation,
 but deliver us from evil.

    Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

    For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever.

    DURING HOLY COMMUNION

    ust as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me,

    and that thou bidst me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 2. Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

    3. Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind; sight, riches, healing of the mind, yea, all I need in thee to find, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 4. Just as I am, thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

    6. Just as I am, thy love unknown hath broken every barrier down; now, to be thine, yea thine alone, O Lamb of God, I come
