Supplies:
Real Red CardstockOld Olive Cardstock
Whisper White CardstockOld Olive or red Grosgrain Ribbon
Summer Picnic Designer Series PaperJr. Legal PadSticky Strip
Red pigment inkClear Embossing Powder
1. Cut one piece of red cardstock 11x8, and one piece 4-1/4 x 8-1/2
2. Score on the 11” side at 5-1/8 and 5-3/8, and 10-1/2
3. Use the pattern to trim the 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 piece. Score the tabbed end at 1/2”
4. Flip both pieces over and butt the 8” side (closest to the 10-1/2” score line) of the large piece of red to the 8-1/2” side of the smaller piece, having the bottom edges even. The tabbed end will stick out from the top edge. Tape the seam with scotch tape.
5. Turn the paper back over (so the taped side is facing the table). Fold the right side over towards
the left on the 10-1/2” score line. Use a bone folder to crease, if necessary.
6. Cut a piece of cherry Summer Picnic paper to 4-3/4” x 8”. Use sticky strip to tape this piece to the trimmed 4-3/4” x 8-1/2” piece of cardstock, making sure that the sticky strip goes right to the edges. The designer paper will not be on the tabbed end.
Trim the designer paper to fit.
7. Put sticky strip on the back side of the tab. Holding the folio with the tabbed section on the right side, fold this section over towards the left on the 10-1/2” score line. Fold the tab under and use sticky strip to adhere to the inside of the folio. This will create a little pocket.
8. To decorate the front, cut cherry paper 5-1/8” x 4” and adhere to the bottom half of what will be the front of the folio.
9. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/4” x 1-3/8”. Stamp with “friendship” from the Wonderful Words set by Stampin' Up!, using red pigment ink. Emboss with clear embossing powder.
10. Cut a piece of Old Olive cardstock to 4-1/2”x1-5/8”. Layer the white stamped strip on the Old Olive strip. Mount to top section of the front.
11. Using a sticky strip, adhere approximately 30” of 5/8” Old Olive (this time I used red) grosgrain ribbon across the front, around the spine, and across the back. Tie in a bow on the side.
12. I used the DIY Monogram Stamper Kit and Nestabilities scalloped circles to create the monogram for the front of the folio. However, it would be precious to use the Tart & Tangy cherry stamp on white, backed by a scalloped circle punch of red.
13. Cut a piece of 5x2-1/4” designer paper and adhere to the top of the legal pad.
