What is AIRMAIL?•A radio messaging program for HAMS!
•A radio terminal program for KB-KB, KB to BBS
•A standalone Email program
•A host interface to Outlook (Express)
•All of the above!
Minimum Requirements?•Windows-95, 98, ME, NT4.0, Win-2000 or Win-XP
•For HF- Pactor Modem such as:-SCS PTC-II, IIe, or IIpro -Kantronics KAM+, KAM with "enhancement board, or KAM-98-AEA PK-232mbx, PK-900, DSP1232/2232 (firmware must include Pactor mode, and ver 7.1 or later firmware is needed to use binary mode)-MFJ 1276 or 1278B (ASCII modes only)-HAL DXP-38-SCS PTC-plus (Pactor-1), ASCII modes only
Minimum Requirements?For VHF- Packet Modem such as :KPC3, KPC3+, Kam98, Kam+,PK232,PK900,DSP232,PTC-IIAGWPE
Minimum Requirements?Note: Some TNC’s require a firmware upgrade because:1. They don’t support the host mode or2. They don’t have PACTOR
For example:
MFJ-1278 requires MFJ-48 Eprom upgrade to version 3.7 which includesthe host mode.
The PK232 may require the MBX, MBX firmware, PSK , and/or low power upgrade
Kantronics KAM requires firmware v6 or higher.

First, turn on the VHF Packet Client
Test the packet initialization
Next, select the packet client

Next, the TNC should initialize properly – if it doesn’tcheck cables, baud rate. Make sure you have theright TNC selected in the AIRMAIL setup.If it still doesn’t initialize, you may not have updated EPROMS in your TNC and the HOST mode is not supported. You need to get updated firmware.
