ITINEARY

DAY 1: Overnight Journey to Malvan Starts at 10:30 pm from Dadar.

DAY 2 : Arrival at Hotel by 11:30 am. Check In and Lunch at hotel. Visit to Sindhudurg Fort via a boatride. Local Sight seeing at Malvan (Rock garden, Lake Dhamapur, Walawal).Leisure Time at Tarkarli

Beach. Dinner at Hotel. OverNight Stay At Hotel.

DAY 3: Post Breakfast Scuba diving and snorkeling at Malvan beach. Evening visit at Tarkarli Beach/

Chivla Beach/ and freak out at tarkarli beach at night.

DAY 4: Early morning Dolphin Safari. Visit to Tsunami Island for Watersports. Lunch at Nivati Beach.

Proceed for Mumbai by 5pm. Enroute Dinner.

DAY 5: We will reach Mumbai by 5 am.

Tarkarli is a narrow stretch of beach with pristine waters, located at the convergence of theKarli River and the Arabian Sea. This place has gained prominence because of its transparently

clear seas, where on a fairly sunny day, one can see the sea- bed up to a depth of 20 feet. This

beach can be rightly called as Queen Beach of Sindhudurg.

Sea and sand blending in enchanting natural harmony, gracefully cruising boats in calm and cool

river waters add to the beauty of this beach. Now MTDC has made houseboat facility available

at Tarkarli. There is one luxury and one standard houseboat here. These fully equipped luxury

boats have the Hi-tech equipment and all luxurious amenities on board.

Nivati Beach :

Nivati is an unexplored piece of land that springs a surprise at every turn you take. Nivati beach

is a secluded cove with a beautiful stretch of white sand beach and a turquoise blue sea to

complement it. Nivati is amongst the regions where sighting dolphins is as easy as it gets and

dolphin rides are very popular in Nivati along with a visit to the Nivati rocks.

Tsunami Island

It's a small island which was formed after the Tsunami struck in 2004. It goes on increasing in

size as the rain comes to end. This island is accessible only for 12 hours during the low tide and

is a great place to be with oneself!

Rock Garden :

The Rock garden is situated near the Arase Mahal and on the Rocky Shore of Malvan. This rock

garden is rich with colourful, decorative flower-trees and sea weed, attractive pathways,

greeneries, beautiful pond, rare curtles, artificially created misty atmosphere and so on.

Lake Dhamapur

The lake is situated between Are and Katta village. This man-made lake was constricted in 1530

by the king Nagesh Desai and has beautiful scenic hill ranges on its two sides. The water is

crystal clear and has dense plantation of mango kokam, coconut and areca plam. The dense

forest and orchard surrounding the lake has made this one of the most beautiful lake in

Maharashtra. You will feel a sudden change in the atmosphere once you reach the spot. The

region has also a rich variety of flaura and fauna. There are beautiful huts on the bank to enable

one staying here to enjoy the panoramic view from these cottages.

Walawal and Walawal Lake:

Walawal is a village in the tehsil of Kudal in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.

Malvan Beach

This is one of the most commercially active beaches in the Konkan. It is buzzing with life at the

jetty where most of the fishermen anchor their boats of various dimensions and colors. The

area of Malvan is a fortified island on the coastal reef. Coral patches have been recorded in the

interstitial regions around the Sindhudurg fort. Most of these marine flora and fauna from the

inter-tidal area is exposed during any low tide.

Sindhudurg Fort :

A sea fort. This impressive Sindhudurg (meaning Ocean Fort), was built in 1664 by the great

17th century Maratha King, Shivaji on "Kurte" island to the glory of the Maratha Empire.Over

2000 khandis of iron were used for casting and the foundation stones were laid down firmly in

lead. Even today, as one approaches the fort past a rocky reef, navigable through a narrow

channel, one marvels at the transportation of such heavy material through such choppy waters.

6. What is the difference between Scuba diving and Snorkeling?Scuba Diving and Snorkeling are both aquatic recreational activitiesthat require a mask.

Snorkeling is a laid back method of viewing underwater life. You weara snorkel, fin and mask and float face down while looking at marinelife.

Scuba diving is more complex than snorkeling. An air tank is to beworn on back that allows much deeper diving. Although at the bottomthere are many marine creatures to witness, you arent able to spotthem all because the sunlight doesnt go to deep depths. Althoughlights can be carried with you on your dive, it hinders and weighs you

down.

Breathing is also much different for each diver. Scuba diving involvesan oxygen tank to go down to deep levels where you are completelyunder water. Whereas in snorkeling, you only have to say under waterfor 30 minutes at a time. You are using real surface air via yoursnorkel.

Oxygen tank, wet suit, and other items are vital for a successful scubadive. However, when snorkeling, gears that are necessary are fins,snorkel, and a mask.
