Fiji Marine Conservation ProjectStay on the stunning Beachcomber Island in the Mamanuca Group of Islands.This is an awesome way to get more out of your travel experience and be part of a government backed initiative to protect and encourage population growth of the Green and Hawksbill turtles and restore the reefs and all taking place on a beautiful tropical island – this place is paradise! Enjoy resort style with the chef utilising fresh local produce!

On Beachcomber Island we will be kickstarting their turtle program, building new ponds and a rehabilitation centre for injured turtles – a turtle sick bay! Plus loads more. We need help!

For two days of the program you will visit nearby Treasure Island where you’ll learn about turtle conservation through assisting in cleaning, the turtles and their ponds. On certain times of the year be involved in turtle releases.

Learn about coral conservation through reef mapping, which involves snorkelling the crystal‑clear water to count the number and variety of fish, coral and other beautiful marine life then transplanting coral from healthy reefs to rebalance the fragile ecosystem.In the afternoons we have some great activities planned to cool us down after a day in the sun.The accommodation is within the resort with resort style meals prepared by the head chef - always a feast.

Day 1‑7 Marine Conservation Week• Provide ongoing care for Headstart Hatchlings – foraging for

dietary components e.g. seaweeds, crabs, ensuring behavioural enrichment such as building rock ledges

• Building new turtle pools

• Build a new turtle sick bay
