Turn in Your Vision, Post Your Picture!
Logical Fallacy of the WeekWHY? So you can intellectually SMACK
DOWN idiocy on the internet. So you can teach your friends to get
all clever and whatnot, and are able to tell the difference between real news and faux news *cough*.
So you can correct someone, in a slightly passive-aggressive yet still socially acceptable way, who is making weak arguments peppered with fallacies.
So you can make the world a more rational place.
Potato.
Strawman You misrepresented someone's
argument to make it easier to attack.
By exaggerating, misrepresenting, or just completely fabricating someone's argument, it's much easier to present your own position as being reasonable, but this kind of dishonesty serves to undermine honest rational debate.

Reach Target Safety A reach is a school in which you fall at the low end of the required criteria and/or has traditionally low acceptance rates.
A target is a school in which you generally meet the criteria, but acceptance is not guaranteed.
A safety is somewhere you are guaranteed to get in based on your GPA and entrance exam scores (SAT/ACT).
This is also a school where you are 100% positive that you can afford to attend.
