The Genc family were born and raised in the small village of Dernek Pazari, Trabzon on the north eastern part of Turkey. Being a remote village, the locals grew their own veggies and bartered for the milk, eggs and meat with their neighbours. There was no electricity, so fires and candles lit up the household and stone ovens were used for the daily bake. Fresh bread was baked daily using a woodfired oven.

When the family migrated to Australia in 1976 the traditional methods were a distant memory. A wood fired oven was built by Mr. Genc at their family home in Perth and this was the birth place of what is now known as “Turkish Bakeries”. Baking fresh bread and pizzas on the weekends for family and friends, this love for bread needed to be shared with all. Not long after the Turkish Oven on Albany highway was formed as the first

place where the Genc Family could offer this delicious bread to the people of Perth. Business thrived and after many years the little Turkish Oven found its home in Turkish Bakeries wholesale premises in Victoria Park. With one little panel van we started delivering our breads across Perth to Cafés, restaurants and hotels. The customers of these businesses were asking where the delicious bread came from so we decided to supply supermarkets and fresh food stores.

Our little business outgrew our small factory so after 14 years we moved into our new purpose built facility on Planet Street in Carlisle. We now have seven ovens which are fired up every night producing our authentic loaves. Our breads are loaded onto our fleet of trucks and delivered the next morning to all over Perth. With HACCP accreditation and a dedication to supplying the best quality breads made by hand from our family to yours…

Our breads are crafted by hand and baked in traditional Stone Deck ovens that are specially designed for artisan baking. Imported from Turkey, our ovens have a heavy thick stone base that give that authentic woodfired flavour but on a more consistent scale.

Throughout our factory you can see traditional techniques used, from wooden peels to carefully hand moulded products, to sour cultures being naturally leavened over a period of time. We adopt these methods to bring our customers the most authentically baked products possible, delivered fresh daily throughout WA. We support our local manufacturers and aim to be the preferred manufacturer to our local and national customers. We are fully HACCP accredited and invite you to discuss your bakery needs with us.

Turkish Bread (‘Ekmek’) is a staple part of the Turkish Culture and household. Aromas of freshly baked bread fill the streets all over turkey as the local bakers start there day baking on every street corner. Turkish bread is an important part of the daily meal and is simply torn off and eaten alongside any meal, this delicious bread is always accompanied by Turkish tea, homemade jams & dips. The secret to Turkish Bread is still held dear by present-day Turkish bakers. Today you will still find the locals lowering their baskets from their balconies down to the baker below for fresh bread daily.

Our breads are made from local flours with no preservatives or additives and are baked in stone ovens using traditional methods, by a team of specific experienced Turkish and Artisan bakers.

Artisan bread is produced using traditional natural methods, mixing ingredients from scratch, carefully crafting each one by hand, and baking in old world style stone deck ovens.

Our products are made with Australian Wheat & Organic flours mixed with filtered water, using no preservatives or additives, to bring to our customers a true artisan product. Our sour culture is naturally leavened over time using organic flour. Artisan breads are crafted ‘freeform’ meaning moulded by hand not machine, giving each piece that unique rustic identity.

Slicing Our loaves can be sliced in either thin slice 14mm or a thick slice 20mm

Orders We accept orders via phone, fax or email. Orders must be placed by 2pm for next day delivery.

Orders for weekend and Monday morning need to be placed by 3pm Friday. ** Please note that there are set delivery days for Brioche products. Orders are

to be placed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for next day delivery.

Minimum Delivery A $60.00 minimum delivery applies to all deliveries in the metro area.
