Karabuumlk is a town and the capital district of

Karabuumlk Province in the Black Sea region of

Turkey According to the 2009 census population

of the city is 108 167[1][2]

The district covers an

area of 760 km2 (293 sq mi)

[3] and the town lies at

an elevation of 354 m (1161 ft)

Karabuumlk is one of the newest provinces of Turkey

in the northern part of Anatolia located about 200

kilometers north of Ankara 115 km (71 mi) away

from Zonguldak and 113 km (70 mi) away from

Kastamonu Until 1995 it was a district of

Zonguldak when it became an il (provincial center)

in its own right It was built in the 1930s as the seat

of the iron and steel industry of Turkey Karabuumlk

lies in a location near Filyos river formed by the

merge of Araccedil and Soğanlı rivers

Karabuumlk is situated on an important trade route

between Amasra on the coast and central Anatolia

The history of the city goes back to the early years

of the Turkish Republic when it was a small sub-

village formed by 13 houses in the Oumlğlebeli village

of Safranbolu There was also a small train station

on the Ankara - Zonguldak route The town started

to develop with the industrialization of the country

One of the first steel factories of the Republic was

built here in 1939 after which it grew rapidly and

incorporated Oumlğlebeli village as a quarter Karabuumlk

became a municipality and then a township in the

Safranbolu district in 1941 She became a district in

1953 and she finally became a provincial center in

1995 Hadrianapolis (Eskipazar) is an ancient city

from the Roman Empire of the 4th century İt is

about 3 km to Karabuumlk There are many

fountainschurchesroman baths Although most of

it is recently excavated the illegal excavations

which have been going on for many years have

The bald boy and the magic

cup Once upon a time there was a woman and her

bald son They lived in poverty One day the

bald boy took a basket and went to the forest to

find food

On his way he saw a group of people beating up

a cat

The bald boy rescued the cat with a coin The

cat went with him

A while later he saw couple of people beating

up a dog

The three friends went walking Near by the

town they saw woodcutters trying to kill a

snake

The bald boy and his friends reached a river

The animals were happy

cup He filled the cup with water but something

magic happened The water turned into gold

BOY WOW Gold This might be a magic

cup I will give it to my mum

Later on he tried again and again to fill the cup

and emptied all the water became gold

After a while he was the richest person in the

town He built a big palace and hired servants

The gold spoilt his soul

Mother My boy be careful and wise The gold
