Location

• Turkey is a transcontinental country located in the northern hemisphere ,and borders eight countries. Bulgaria to the northwest, Greece to the west, Georgia to the northeast, Armenia ,Azerbaijan and Iran to the east, Iraq and Syria to the southeast.

Customs

• According to the Islamic and Turkish customs, it is preferable to wear Islamic clothes when entering a mosque while it is a must to remove your shoes before entering the mosque, to talk politely with low voice, not to walk directly in front of the prayers.

• Pointing at others, hugging and kissing in public, exposing the sole of your foot so that it points in the direction of others , is considere rude and cheeky and might cause people to ignore you.

Belly dancers

• Almost every hotel in Turkey offers a belly dance show for the tourists, recently belly dancers are found in social events, weddings, and ceremonies, in order to celebrate an important events, but before less than one hundred years ago belly dance was a religious ritual which many females does in honor of their gods.

Camel fight• Many Turkish people enjoy watching camel races during

winter time , the point of the game is to see which camel can hold the opponent the longest. This popular game originally played in the Arab countries and Iran long time ago.
