PERFORMANCES Recital: Our production each year provides a fun and exciting atmosphere for students to develop a love for performing. Other performances: We frequently perform at various community functions. Our Company Dancers will represent our studio at local, regional and national dance competitions.

RULES TO MAKE US HAPPY

Parents will receive an email notification if studio classes are canceled due to bad weather. We will have make-up lessons for classes missed due to weather. No visitors in class anytime except Parent’s Week unless special arrangements have been made to accommodate out of town relatives. Please instruct your child to wait quietly inside the building until you pick him/her up. We cannot be responsible for children outside the premises. Students should not run inside the studio nor touch the mirrors or teacher’s area. No gum or candy is allowed during classes. Please do not litter the parking lot or studio. Each student/parent is responsible for carrying his/her own accidental insurance coverage and/or medical costs. Lana’s Dance Studio and its staff shall not be liable for accidents, personal injury or property loss.

ATTIREEach student must be properly attired to participate in class. Students should have a dance bag, and all shoes and bags should be labeled!

DANCEWEAR: Leotard or sports bra and tights or fitted dance shorts or leggings. Girls should have hair in a ponytail or bun for class.BALLET: Pink ballet shoesTAP: Black tap shoes [elastic in eyelets for preschool students]TUMBLING: Bare feet, leotard or sports bra & shorts.JAZZ: Ballet or jazz shoes.HIP HOP: Tennis shoes of choice. CHEERLEADING: Tennis shoes, sports bra or cami & shorts

COMPANYShoe color will be specified when costumes are ordered. Pink ballet shoes are required for ballet. Tan Capezio Tyettes for Sweethearts, Petites, and Showstoppers. Bloch split sole tap shoe for Superstar, Dazzlers, Juniorettes, Juniors & Seniors. Bloch neoflex jazz shoe for all Company Classes.

Pointe: Footlights, in Little Rock, will help students select Pointe shoe with proper fit.(Please have Mrs. Marla double-check before sewing ribbons).

COSTUMESCostumes for Recital and other performances will be ordered at the November Parent’s Week. They must be paid in full by Tuesday, November 8th. Costume prices range from $60-$90 per class. As the year progresses, you will receive further details regarding costumes and Recital. During the fall semester, costumes may be prepaid $5-$20 per month along with the monthly fee.

TEACHING STAFF Artistic Director Ms. Lana Gober has trained with numerous dance professionals across the nation, and she consistently attends master classes and workshops to keep up with the most innovative teaching techniques in dancing and tumbling. Her students have won local, state, regional and national awards at many dance, twirl and tumbling competitions.

Ballet Instructor Marla Edwards trained with The Houston Ballet Academy. She is a former company member and soloist with Ballet Arkansas. She is the former Ballet Mistress for Ballet Arkansas. She is an outstanding ballet instructor for our Company and Pointe Classes, and we welcome her back for her 18th year of teaching at our studio.

Dance InstructorMegan Florence Gray trained at our studio then received a dance degree from Oklahoma City University. She danced on a cruise line and then in New York City. She is an asset to our dance program.

Dance InstructorMolly McCall danced at our studio for 15 years, and we welcome her back for her 4th year of teaching. The passion she has for dance and her students is obvious!

Cheer InstructorWhitley Elam is a nurse and a 16 year student from our studio who teaches our cheer prep class. The best way to prepare children for cheerleading is to take dance and tumbling and then take our cheer prep class.

Tumbling & Hip Hop InstructorJordan Eason is a former dancer from our studio who returned to our area after teaching at Gravity Dance Studio in Oklahoma. He has auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance and appeared as a hip hop dancer in several music videos. He will be teaching our boys’ classes and tumbling and hip hop.

Dance & Tumbling Instructor Emily Moore is a UALR dance major and member of the UALR traveling troupe. She trained at our studio for 15 years, and we welcome her back for her 2nd year of teaching.

Dance & Tumbling InstructorNatalie Oliger trained at our studio for 15 years in dancing, tumbling, and cheerleading, and we welcome her back for her 2nd year of teaching.
