Title: English Language

Training and Irish Culture

Duration: 60 hours

Preparation: Course participants will fill in a comprehensive enrolment form and their level of English will be assessed prior to the start of the course.

Objective: This course will enable education providers to refresh their English Language skills and to give them an in-depth knowledge of many aspects of Irish culture and Irish daily life. This will empower participants to communicate effectively in English and revitalise classroom activities by applying this knowledge to their classes.

Methodology: The task-based language training sessions are designed to actively develop the fluency and accuracy of the course participants.

PRONUNCIATION 2018

Title: Pronunciation – Training course for all English language teachers.

Duration: 56 hours

Preparation: Teachers should be aware of the importance and significance of pronunciation and be open to corrective action and exercises to achieve correct English pronunciation. Course participants are requested to bring their own laptops/tablets to use during the course.

Objectives: To perfect course participants’ pronunciation and to expose teachers to methods and ideas for teaching pronunciation to their students.

Methodology: The communicative approach to language teaching and learning is used in all sessions. Workshops and guest speakers are also used in the course.
