TEENewsFHU is Expanding Dual Enrollment Program

to FHU/Memphis CampusFreed-Hardeman University is excited to announce an expanded, and highly unique, dual enrollment program. The program allows homeschool students to get a head start on their university careers by earning college credit from FHU while also earning high school credit. Qualified students who have completed their sophomore year of high school will be able to participate in the program beginning with the Fall 2017 semester. Classes, taught by FHU faculty, will be offered between 10:30 am - 3:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays at the FHU/Memphis campus at 5565 Shelby Oaks Dr. In the yearly rotation, classes will be offered in English, mathematics, psychology, history, communications, art, literature, and science. The college credits earned through FHU are accepted at nearly all colleges and universities. To qualify for the program, students must have a 3.0 grade point average and a 21 composite score on the ACT. To enroll, students should apply for dual enrollment admission at fhu.edu/apply and send transcripts and test scores to [email protected]. After acceptance, students must register for the desired classes and attend orientation scheduled for Tuesday, May 16 at 5:00 pm at 5565 Shelby Oaks Dr., Memphis, TN. Each course will cost $300 per 3-credit course; however, the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant may be used to offset the cost, covering up to two classes per semester. More details on the enrollment process can be found at www.fhu.edu/memphisdualenrollment. The Memphis Dual Enrollment Program hopes to give homeschool students the opportunity to better prepare for college in a safe and comfortable environment.
