TUBING

FLEXIBLE VINYL (PVC)DUROMETER 68 SHORE A

Plasticized from non-toxic, flexiblePVC, this tubing is resistant to a widerange of chemicals. A good choice forvarious piping problems where the useof corrosive, pure or sensitive solutionsis involved. While not as strong or kink-resistant as polyurethane tubing, this isan excellent alternative choice if cost isthe determining factor.

Available in 12 sizes, from IDs of1/16" up to 1/4" (some IDs have different wall thicknesses to choosefrom). They come in both 100-foot coilsand bulk reel lengths in natural (clear),black, white, and in the following opaquecolours: blue, yellow, red and green.(Note: all pigments are non-migratory.)

Vinyl tubing is also available in crystalclear 70 durometer, in tube IDs of 1/16"up to 2-1/2". Formulated of V-1 vinyl, itfully meets FDA specifications for con-tact with food and drugs for human con-sumption.

POLYURETHANE DUROMETER 85 SHORE A

This polyether-based polyurethane tubing shares the best properties of twomaterials: it has the elongation andrecovery characteristics associated withrubber and also offers the chemicalresistance of plastic. It demonstratessuperior resistance to kinking, abrasion,tearing, hydrolysis, oxidation, ozone, fungus and humidity. It's an excellentchoice for flexibility, even in cold temper-atures. Some of the typical uses forpolyurethane tubing are robotics, airtools, vacuum equipment, medical andlab applications and pressure measure-ment apparatus.

Available in 12 sizes, from IDs of 1/16"up to 1/4" (some IDs have different wallthicknesses to choose from). They comein both 100-foot coils and bulk reellengths in natural (clear), black, white,and in the following opaque and trans-parent colours: blue, yellow, red andgreen. (Note: all pigments used are non-migratory.)

POLYETHYLENE DUROMETER 55 SHORE D

Available in natural or UV-resistantblack extruded linear LDPE. Providesexcellent flexibility and low temperaturetoughness. It comes in four sizes (IDs of1/16", .170, 1/4", and 3/8") in 100-footcoils or bulk reel lengths.

Other types of polyethylene tubingavailable: instrument grade (in a varietyof colours), black flame-retardant and black HDPE.

NYLON

The nylon tubing comes in two styles:flexible and semi-rigid high strength. Bothare made of nylon 11 and come in eitherblack or white.

Flexible: Lightweight tubing withextremely low level water absorption. Itsresistance to stress cracking far out-weighs that of ordinary nylon tubing.Thirteen tube IDs are available, from .093to .253.

Semi-rigid, high strength: This tubingoffers better chemical resistance than theflexible nylon, has good resistance to highambient temperatures and low moistureabsorption. It contains no plasticizers. Itshigh tensile strength gives it excellent coupling retention in high pressure, temperature and vibration situations.Comes in eleven tube IDs, from .091 to .350.

POLYPROPYLENE

Laboratory grade polypropylene tubingcomes in white or UV-resistant black. Maybe used at higher temperatures and working pressures than polyethylene. Its resistance to environmental stresscracking, hot water and hot corrosiveacids is excellent (it will last much longerthan nylon tubing in hot water service). Ithas good resistance to vegetable oils, andwater absorption is less than .01%. MeetsFDA requirements for food contact. It isavailable in seven tube IDs, from .080 to .500.
