Dear Parents, This morning, the tuneful MP 2 and 3 choir and the very talented TX orchestra performed for children, parents and teachers during assembly. This is one of their rehearsals for the Friends Around the World spring concert which will take place on Wednesday 1st April. The children were amazing in our school hall and judging by our sneak preview this morning, I can certainly say that they are ready for taking the stage in the Ben Thanh Theatre, alongside children from An Phu Primary and Secondary schools. The annual spring concert is always our BIS music spectacular of the year so I hope to see many of your there next week.

From the Head Teacher– Ms Sue Hill

Finer Diners

Congratulations to Quynh An, Naomi, Yegor and Albane

(Year 3), and Swastik and Hai Anh (Year 4).

BIS Spring Concert 2015: ‘Friends Around The World’ As most of you will know, children who are in the TX orchestra, Milepost 2&3 choir, chamber choir and string group will be performing at the BIS Spring Concert on Wednesday 1st April in the Ben Thanh Theatre at 6pm. There are still tickets available from the office if you would like to come. During the day on the 1st April, the children will attend the theatre for a full-day rehearsal. If your child is performing, please make sure they have a water bottle, a book and musical instrument with them. The children will be given a packed lunch on this day. The school will be providing buses to and from the theatre for the rehearsal, but will not be providing buses for the evening performance. The children must be at the theatre in the evening by 5:45pm at the latest. Children must be wearing their TX orchestra or TX choir t-shirt, school shorts/skirt and black shoes. We hope to see many of you on the evening of the 1st April to support our wonderfully talented TX children! Mr Robbie Primary Music Leader www.xmusic2014-2015.blogspot.com

FOBISIA Primary Performing Arts Carnival Last week Mr Robbie took Calvin, Theresa, Vivian, Laura and Jessie from Year 5 to the FOBISIA Primary Performing Arts Carnival 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The children were also involved with lots of other various activities such as dancing, Thai craft making, Thai sports and mixing with 17 other British international schools from around Asia.

Shrewsbury School were the host school, and during the weekend the children took part in a large orchestra and choir, who performed on the Sunday afternoon.

Mr Robbie and the children had a wonderful time, and are looking forward to the FOBISIA PPAC 2016 which will take place here at BIS next year.

TX Waste Week

TX Waste Week

13 to 17 April 2015

The Eco-Warriors visited all year groups this week to let them know about the upcoming Waste Week and Green Day. There will be lots going on during Waste Week to remind us not to waste our precious resources. Watch this space for more information. In the meantime, remember:

Reduce, reuse, recycle too,

The Eco-Teams are watching you.

Community Friends Club

The Community Friends club have been working with

their partners from the TX Centre this term and having

great fun playing together in the Soft Play room. Building

relationships with children from different backgrounds

can sometimes be challenging. Pucca, Anh Tuan,

Jeremy, Thy, Bella and Duc Anh have shown great

perseverance, trying hard to understand and respect the

needs of their new friends.

This club will be running

again in Term 3 for children in

Year 2 and 3, if you would like

to join, sign up on CHQ!

Creative Hands Club

TX’s Creative Hands Club had an amazing time working with our community partner, Ky Quang Pagoda. All the children had a go at using different art resources and were able to express themselves through drawing, painting, collage making and a lot more.

BIS children showed great compassion as they worked alongside Ky Quang Pagoda children. They helped the boys in every possible way they could such as choosing colours, sticking, colouring and painting.

Ms Precious

It has truly been an enjoyable experience for all of

us. Hen Gap Lai, See you again Ky Quang Pagoda

Origami Club

BIS students working with children from Binh Anh School have been very busy in origami club this half term. I’m sure you will have seen some of our masterpieces around school!

We made a beautiful rainbow crane mobile, as well as a delicate tree of butterflies.

This week we made origami boats and swans and floated them gracefully across the Fundino pool.
