Target Agricultural ModernisationScheme - TAMS II first started inJune 2015 and is set to run untilDecember 2020. This scheme isco-funded by the EU and theNational Exchequer under theRural Development Programme(2014-2020) with a totalallocation of over €395mthroughout its duration.

TAMS II aims to provide farmers with grantaid to improve and/or build a specific rangeof farm buildings or purchase equipmentthat may benefit their farm businesses.

According to the Department of Agriculture,grant aid will only be paid on approved,complete and eligible expenditure.

Under TAMS II, individual farmers can applyfor grant aid of 40% on investments up to aceiling of €80,000 – this is a maximumindividual payment of €32,000.

Farmers who reach this grant aid ceilingare not eligible to apply for any of theother TAMS II schemes with the exceptionof the “LESS” scheme (Low Emissions SlurrySpreading). For farmers in a registeredfarm partnership with the Department ofAgriculture, they can avail of grant aid tothe value of €160,000. This applies toapplications with two or more eligiblepartners.

Partnerships containing one qualifyingyoung farmer grant aid will be paid at 60%on the first €80,000, and 40% for theremaining balance.

TAMS II – What is it?

Thebenefits of TAMS II range from theconstruction of new animal housing,the provision of nutrient storagefacilities and the ever-importantsafety elements.

SHEEPStanley Sheepeze Mobile Sheep RaceStanley Sheepeze is easily transported & a quick to set up mobile sheep race, made to handleall flock sizes. The adjustable sides keep sheep and lambs secure. Stanley Sheepez has ahidden footbath in the sheep race. The telescopic arm on the drafting gate allows for aneffective flow of stock.

Foxes Sheep RaceFoxes Sheep Race is TAMS II approved and is an ideal sheep and lamb handling unit formanaging sheep in the field. The economy sheep race is hot dip galvanised.

Roll Over CrateThis roll over crate is designedfor easy installation with mostsheep races. It can also beused as a squeeze chute fordosing and tagging sheep.The animal is presented to thehandler, feet forward for easeof access and added safety forboth sheep and handler.

Foxes Atoption Unit(Penning option available) Foxes adoption unit safely restrains the ewe whilebonding with the new lambs. This unit allows accessto feed and water while the sheep is restrained.

CATTLEMobile Cattle Crush The mobile cattle crush unit is suitable foruse in the field or in a yard making it anideal unit for outside farms or rented farmswhere you do not want to invest heavilyon fixed handling equipment. It allowsconvenient handling of cattle in anyenvironment.

With the addition of extra panels this unitcan be easily built into a holding pen andcattle race which in turn encourages thecattle into the crush.

This versatile and adaptable crush unit isdesigned to be attached to a weight crate.

The mobile cattle crush can be fitted witha range of sculling gates and a rear hingedgate for added safety.

Weighing Scales O’Neill’s Livestock weighing scales is designed to fit most standard cattle races. It has a largeweight display which makes it easy to read in all weather conditions. The chequer plateplatform provides extra grip and support for livestock.

3 in 1 Calving Gate TAMS II approved 3 in 1 telescopic calving gate is designed to keep the cow under controlduring calving.

This triple gate design is perfect forall calving requirements. It isdesigned to hang between twocubicles and can be operated fromboth sides. The cows head can besecured in the sculling gate whichhas as a quick release at the top. Theinternal bars in the middle gate canbe opened to allow full access in theevent of caesarean section. Themiddle gate is also designed with aninner step to allow for sucking.
