TT222 FASHION TECHNOLOGY IN APPARELS ANDMADE – UPS

Course Description & Objectives:This course deals with the fundamental concepts required for a fashiondesigner. So the students undergone this course are familiar with theterminology and concepts involved in fashion designing for apparels andmade –ups.

UNIT I - Fashion & DesignFashion: Fashion terminology, Origin of fashion, Fashion cycle, Fashionindustry, factors affecting fashion, Fashion adaptation theories. Major fashioncenters of the world: Brief introduction to world fashion centers- American,European, Japanese and Indian, Fashion houses and designers, Fashiondesigning, apparel designing and fashion technology.Design: Elements and principles of design: Line, colour and proportionemphasis. Design process: Designers’ functions - Inspiration files, sketches,how to interpret designs, story Board / Fabric story; The design studio,sampling.

UNIT II - Fashion TheoriesFashion Theories: Fashion of direct eras, French revolutions, Psychology ofclothing – first impression, role of socio – psychological and economicalaspects of clothing.

eight heads, Sketching and illustrations of body figures & body shapes

UNIT V - Fashion Accessories

Introduction to historic costumes, Introduction to fashion accessories, history,classification and recent trends, Use of leather in apparel, Computerapplication in fashion designing.
