Harvest is Plentiful Concert Today, Sunday, Nov. 6, The Parishes of St. Joseph in Fredonia and SS. Columba/Brigid in Buffalo invite you to a concert, a joint effort of these two parishes. This is an Annual Event in which St. Joseph parish has collaborated with an inner-city parish for an evening of uplifting music. The concert will begin at 6 pm at St. Columba/Brigid Church on the corner of Eagle and Hickory St. in Buffalo. It is free of charge.

What is the St. Gianna Center? Our city now has a satellite office of the St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center. It has been renovated and is now open to assist all who cherish human life. The center provides material, emotional and spiritual support to needy single mothers and young families during pregnancy and through the first years of life. The Dunkirk office of St. Gianna Center is located on the grounds of St. Hedwig Church, specifically the building closest to the church i.e. the former convent.

The prayer will consist of meditative music, readings, and a candlelight procession. It is most fitting for those who still grieve the death of a loved one

Catholic Cemetery Moment If you are considering cremation it is well to discuss your choice with your family or parish priest. While cremation is allowed, there are certain preferences and stipulations. The cremated remains of a body must be buried or entombed. The church does not allow scattering cremated remains, dividing cremated remains or keeping cremated remains in the home.

Need a bike? Spokes Folks is a non-profit organization that refurbishes used bikes for the community since 2007. A team of workers repairs bikes and makes them available to adults and children, at a very, very reasonable price. If you could use a bike for your child or yourself, stop at Spokes Folks, located behind and alongside Crino Music Store, 811 Central Ave. (just past the railroad overpass). Hours are: Tues, Wed. and Thurs. from 2 – 5 p.m. There is also a bike clinic on Tuesday evenings from 7 -9 p.m. that offers a hand-on opportunity to learn bicycle repair. If you have an old bike in your garage or basement that is no longer needed, Spokes Folks will gladly accept it.
