    DirectiveSoundTransmissionAnarrayofloudspeakersthatcanproducedifferentsoundsindifferentdirectionsordifferentlocationsinaroom,sothatoneprerecordedsoundcanbeheardatonepositionandanotheratanotherpositionwithoutany interference.Theotherreceiversthuswillnotbeabletohearthemessagefortheintendedreceiver.Ademonstrationofthisinterferencesuppressiontechniqueisanotherpossibledemonstratorsetup.

    ZeroForcingBydoingcarefulchannelestimationbothfromtheintendedreceiverandfromotherreceivers,thesignalsfromtheloudspeakerarraycanbeprecodedinsuchawaythatnointerferenceisoverheardattheotherreceivers.Theotherreceiversthuswillnotbeabletohearthemessagefortheintendedreceiver.Ademonstrationofthisinterferencesuppressiontechniqueisanotherpossibledemonstratorsetup.

    ParallelDataTransmissionUsingmultiuserprecoding,itispossibletobroadcastandreceivemanyparallelstreamsofdata,onestreamto/fromeachuserthatthearrayhaschannelknowledgeto.

    CellphoneasUserEquipmentAsmartphonecouldbeprogrammedastheuserequipment"thatcommunicateswiththeloudspeakerarray.Byprogrammingauserinterfaceasanapplication,theloudspeakersandmicrophneofthesmartphonecouldbecontrolledtosendpilotsforchannelestimationandforrecordinganddecodingthereceivedmessages.

  • TrackingpersonnelincorridorStudentsshoulddeployall6anchorsacrosstheCommSyscorridor,andattachthetagsonthemselves(e.g.putintheirpockets).Thegoalistotrackthemselvesandtoshowtheestimatedtrack.BothLOSandNLOSscenarioshouldbeconsidered.NLOScanbecreatedbydeployingananchorinsidetheoffice.StudentsshouldtrytoachieveasubmeteraccuracyeveninthepresenceofNLOS.

    Thetaskissimilartothepreviousone,butnowthegoalistotrackthelawnmowersoutdoors.Theanchorsshouldbedeployedontheofficewindows(outside),andthetagshouldbeattachedonthelawnmower(theoneisavailablenexttoourcorridor).Onepossibleextension,studentsshouldobtainaGPSestimatesoflawnmowerposition(e.g.usingasmartphone),andcomparetheresultswithPozyxestimates.

    Inthiscase,wewouldliketodetermineifunwantedpersonorobject(intruder)enteredCommSyscorridor.ThetrickypartisthatintruderisnotequippedwithaPozyxtag,andlikelyheisnotemittinganyothersignal.Therefore,studentsshouldanalyzetheUWBsignals(compleximpulseresponseisthemostusefulhere)fromdeployedanchorswhennobodyisincorridor,andcompareitwithsituationswhensomeone/somethingentersthecorridor.Then,theycancreateaclassicationalgorithm,whichwillhaveaminimalnumberoffalsealarmsandmisseddetections.Agoodperformanceisexpectedincaseofheavymetalobstacles
