NEWSLETTER Issue 1 Rosyth Sea Cadets July 2015 SALUTE FOR ARMED FORCES DAY IN THE SPOTLIGHT Rosyth Sea Cadets have been extremely busy in attending several events over the last few weeks. North Queensferry, Dunfermline & Benarty Galas were all very well attended by cadets and staff alike. North Queensferry saw the first public performance of our Continuity Drill Display this year. Our promotional stand looked amazing and was kept busy with fundraising face painting and tattoos. The sun shone for the Dunfermline Gala on Armed Forces Day, as did our cadets and staff who once again performed their duties with pride. We were not deterred when Benarty Gala day started out very wet indeed. The squad kept their step and their heads held high. Midway through our 1.4 mile march to Lochore Meadows, the sun came out and provided us with yet another glorious day to promote the Sea Cadet Corps and perform the Continuity Drill display yet again. Birthday Bake Off! We celebrated our 70 th Birthday and the Sea Cadets 159 th Birthday this month with a Bake Off. Cadets & families were treated to a fabulous night of Cake and performances, with Junior Galas Galore

Galas Galore

Rosyth Sea Cadets have been extremely busy in attending several events over the last few weeks.

Birthday Bake Off!We celebrated our 70th Birthday and the Sea Cadets 159th Birthday this month with a Bake Off. Cadets & families were treated to a fabulous night of Cake and performances, with Junior Cadet Urquhart taking the top prize for his 4s Shirt cake. The event received some nice coverage in the Dunfermline Press too!

Cadets Afloat!

4 Cadets from TS Fife joined with other units and rowed their socks off to represent Fife & Tayside at the Area rowing competition in Greenock early in June. No medals in this event but a good effort nonetheless from all involved.

Anchors Aweigh

Rosyth Community Council members handed over the watering weeding and general maintenance of The Anchor Bed to Rosyth Sea Cadets on 1st July. The Anchor Bed has been planted with vegetables and flowers as part of Rosyth's Edible and Tasty Spaces initiative.

Fundraising Thanks to the generous donations of families, friends and public supporters, we are pleased to announce that our collection buckets have rung so far to the tune of 234.69.

Your support is welcomed by way of sponsorship and / or help with the event itself.
