Isaiah 6:1-8 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the

temple.2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and

with twain he did fly. 3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of hisglory.

4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the Kin

have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present

themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth,

and from walking up and down in it.8And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him

in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?9Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth

Job fear God for nought?10

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou

hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.11

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath

and he will curse thee to thy face.

12And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan wentforth from the presence of the LORD.

13And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their

eldest brother's house:

14And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15And the Sabeans fell

upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell

thee.16

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the

sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.17

While he was yet speaking, there came also

another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the

servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.18

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, an

said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men,

and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.20

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down

upon the ground, and worshipped,21

And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gav

and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.22

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Isaiah 46:9-11 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like

me,10Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and

I will do all my pleasure:11

Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have

spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Matthew 28:11-15 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the

things that were done.12

And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the

soldiers,13

Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.14

And if this come to the governor's ears, we

will persuade him, and secure you.15

So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among

men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.5I will therefore put

you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterwarddestroyed them that believed not.

6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in

everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like

manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of

eternal fire.8Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

9Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing

accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.10

But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, a

brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.11

Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after th

error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.12

These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you

feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice

dead, plucked up by the roots;13

Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the

blackness of darkness for ever.14

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with

ten thousands of his saints,

To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deedwhich they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.16

These are

murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in

admiration because of advantage.17

But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus

Christ;18

How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.19

These be the

who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.20

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in th

Holy Ghost,

21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22And of some have compassio

making a difference:23

And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.24

Now unto

him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,25

To the only

wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod

and among the Philistines.7And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the

Mehunims.8And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened

himself exceedingly.9Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wal

and fortified them.10

Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in

the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry. 11Moreover Uzziah had an ho

of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah

the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.

12The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.

13And under their hand

was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against

the enemy.14

And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and

slings to cast stones.15

And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoo

arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.16

But when he was

strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD

to burn incense upon the altar of incense.17

And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that

were valiant men:18

And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto

the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed;

neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.19Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: andwhile he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, fr om beside

the incense altar.20

And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and

they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.21

And Uzziah the king was a

leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham

his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.22

Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the

prophet, the son of Amoz, write.23

So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which

belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.Romans 13:1-6 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of
