Isaiah 6:1-8 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the

temple.2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and

with twain he did fly. 3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of hisglory.

4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5Then said I, Woe is me! fo

I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the Kin

the LORD of hosts.6Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from of

the altar:7And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin

purged.8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be

    fulfilled.

Matthew 10:15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for

seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the

kingdom of heaven.Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on

earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heave

Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this

which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done

Matthew 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.Matthew 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon

another, that shall not be thrown down.Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the leas

of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.Matthew 26:21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.Matthew 26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of

God.John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the

kingdom of God.John 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he see

the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall n

    17Even the

Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with

you, and shall be in you.John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but

    whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.1 Timothy 2:3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto

the knowledge of the truth.Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;Isaiah 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring

forth iniquity.Jeremiah 7:28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth

correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.Isaiah 59:15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him tha

there was no judgment.1 Timothy 6:13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate

witnessed a good confession;2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to

themselves teachers, having itching ears;4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in

unrighteousness;Acts 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.Romans 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed

for ever. Amen.1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, a

    the spirit of error.

Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and

eschewed evil.2And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

3His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and thre

thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the

greatest of all the men of the east.4

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their threesisters to eat and to drink with them.

5And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them

and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons

have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present

themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth,

and from walking up and down in it.8And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him

in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?9Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth

    Job fear God for nought?10

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou

hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.11

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath

and he will curse thee to thy face.

12And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan wentforth from the presence of the LORD.

13And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their

    eldest brother's house:

14And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

    15And the Sabeans fell

upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell

    thee.16

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the

sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.17

While he was yet speaking, there came also

another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the

servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.18

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, an

said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

    19

And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men,

and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.20

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down

    upon the ground, and worshipped,21

And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gav

and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.22

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,25

    And that

they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the

world, and not after Christ.Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is tha

good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.Mark 9:2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by

themselves: and he was transfigured before them.2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glo

Galatians 5:16-17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.17

For the flesh lusteth against the Spiri

and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all hav

sinned:Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart w

only evil continually.Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain,

and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;Romans 7:14-20 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15For that which I do I allow not: for what I

would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.16

If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.17

    Now then it

no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is

    good I find not.19

For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.20

Now if I do that I would not, it is no mo

I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.Romans 8:5-14 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the

Spirit.6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God

for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9But ye are not in the

flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.10

    An

if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken you

mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.12

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.13

    For if ye

live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.14

For as many as are led by t

Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.1 Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Colossians 3:5-10 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil

concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:6For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of

disobedience:7In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice,

blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his

    deeds;10

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:Romans 7:24-25 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25I thank God through Jesus Christ our

Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

1These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy

Son also may glorify thee:2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given

him.3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Philippians 3:8-10 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for

whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,9And be found in him, not having mine

Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the

Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of theland whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

13But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down

For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:15

    Lest thou make a covenan

Ezekiel 22:26-28 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy

Psalm 19:1-41The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2Day unto day uttereth speech, and

night unto night sheweth knowledge.3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

4Their line is gone out through al

my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth

    in unrighteousness;19

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.20

    For the invisib

Isaiah 46:9-11 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like

me,10Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and

I will do all my pleasure:11

Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have

spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Matthew 28:11-15 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the

    things that were done.12

And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the

    soldiers,13

Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.14

And if this come to the governor's ears, we

will persuade him, and secure you.15

So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among

the Jews until this day.1 Corinthians 15:14-19 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

15Yea, and we are found false

witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.16

    Fo

if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:17

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.18

    Then they also

which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.19

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Joshua 4:1-7 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

    2Take

you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,3And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordanout of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging

place, where ye shall lodge this night.4Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every

tribe a man:5And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up eve

man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:6That this may be a sign among

you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?7Then ye shall answer them, Th

the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were c

off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever. Jude 1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus

Christ, and called:2Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the

common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was on

delivered unto the saints.4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly

men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.5I will therefore put

you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterwarddestroyed them that believed not.

6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in

everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like

manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of

eternal fire.8Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

9Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing

accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.10

But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, a

brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.11

Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after th

error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.12

These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you

feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice

dead, plucked up by the roots;13

Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the

    blackness of darkness for ever.14

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with

    ten thousands of his saints,

    15

To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deedwhich they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.16

    These are

murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in

    admiration because of advantage.17

But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus

    Christ;18

How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.19

    These be the

who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.20

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in th

    Holy Ghost,

21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

    22And of some have compassio

    making a difference:23

And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.24

    Now unto

him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,25

    To the only

wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;16

Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he migh

So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.30

And the king of Israel said unto

Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and

    went into the battle.31

But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither

with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.32

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that

they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.33

    And it came to pass,

when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.34

    And a certain

man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his

chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

Acts 17:24-26 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples mad

with hands;25Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all

    things;26And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times beforeappointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

2 Kings 6:8-18 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall

be my camp. 9And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians

are come down.10And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there,

not once nor twice. 11Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto

them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?12And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the

prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.13And he said, Go and spy where he

23For the husband is the head of the wife, eve

as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.24

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be

to their own husbands in every thing.25

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;26

    That

he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,27

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not

having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.28

So ought men to love their wives as their

own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.29

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as

    the Lord the church:30

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.31

For this cause shall a man leave his father and

mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.32

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and th

    church.33

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her

husband.Titus 1:5-6 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every citas I had appointed thee:

6If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed

the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give

account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine

Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his

maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,

and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.27

    So

God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.28

    And God blessed them, an

God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and

over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.Genesis 2:18-24 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

    19And ou

of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he

would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.20

And Adam gave names to all cattle,

and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.21

    And the LORD Go

caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;22

    And the rib,

which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.23

And Adam said, This is now bone of m

bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.24

Therefore shall a man leave his father an

his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.Matthew 19:4-8 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male

and female,5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one

flesh?6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.Malachi 2:13-17 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuc

that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.14

Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD

hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and th

    wife of thy covenant.15

And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly

seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.16

For the LORD, the God of Isra

saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your

spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.17

Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When

ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?1 Peter 3:1-7 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the

word be won by the conversation of the wives;2While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.5For aft

this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own

husbands:6Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any

amazement.7Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel,

and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.Colossians 3:18-21 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

19Husbands, love your wives, and be not

    bitter against them.20

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.21

    Fathers, provoke not your

children to anger, lest they be discouraged.Titus 2:4-5 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

    5To be discreet, chaste,

keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first

    17If any man defile the

temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye

are not your own?1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.Romans 12:4-5 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

5So we, being many, are one

body in Christ, and every one members one of another.1 Corinthians 10:17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. Romans 16:25-26 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to

the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,26

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the

prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:Ephesians 1:9-10 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in

Ephesians 4:3-5 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are

called in one hope of your calling;5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye

love one another with a pure heart fervently:Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a

    righteous man availeth much.

Ephesians 4:21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:Ephesians 4:32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns

and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.Romans 14:19Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.Romans 12:10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in

your own conceits.1 Thessalonians 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.Ephesians 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one

    another.

Romans 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.35

    B

this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.Deuteronomy 22:11-13 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.

    12Thou shalt make thee fringes

upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.13

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,Matthew 6:1-18 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father whic

is in heaven.2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in

the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left

hand know what thy right hand doeth:4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee

openly.5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the

corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.6But thou, when thou prayest, enter

into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall rewar

thee openly.7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much

speaking.8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9After thismanner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as i

    is in heaven.11

Give us this day our daily bread.12

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.14

For if ye forgive men their trespasse

your heavenly Father will also forgive you:15

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your

    trespasses.16

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear

unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.17

But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy

    face;18

That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward

    thee openly.

Isaiah 55:1-2 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy

wine and milk without money and without price.2Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that

which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon himand with his stripes we are healed.Psalm 42:1-2 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living

God: when shall I come and appear before God?

1 Kings 21:1-9 And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the

palace of Ahab king of Samaria.2And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs,

because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the wor

of it in money.3And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.

    4And Aha

came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will n

give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.5But

Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?6And he said unto her, Because I

spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another

vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.7And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the

kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.8So she wro

letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwellin

with Naboth.9And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:Daniel 4:29-36 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

30The king spake, and said, Is not this

great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?31

    While the

word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is

    departed from thee.32

And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to

eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it

    whomsoever he will.33

The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as

oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.34

    And

at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the

most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from

    generation to generation:35

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of

heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?36

    At the same time my

reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my

lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.Proverbs 16:9-10 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

10A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his

mouth transgresseth not in judgment.Proverbs 21:1The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.Daniel 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and

knowledge to them that know understanding:Romans 9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in

thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.1 Samuel 8:1-18 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.

2Now the name of his firstborn

was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.3And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside

after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.4Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel

unto Ramah,5And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the

nations.6But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

    7And the

LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but theyhave rejected me, that I should not reign over them.8According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them

up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.9Now therefore

hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over

    them.10

And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.11

And he said, This will be the manner of

the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and

some shall run before his chariots.12

And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ea

his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.13

    And he will take your

daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.14

And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your

oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.15

And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and

give to his officers, and to his servants.16

And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, an

your asses, and put them to his work.17

He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.18

And ye shall cry out in that

day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.

2 Chronicles 26:1-23 Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his fath

Amaziah.2He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

3Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he bega

to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.4And he did that which wa

right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.5And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had

understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.6And he went forth and warred

against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod

and among the Philistines.7And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the

Mehunims.8And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened

himself exceedingly.9Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wal

    and fortified them.10

Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in

the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry. 11Moreover Uzziah had an ho

of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah

the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.

12The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.

    13And under their hand

was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against

    the enemy.14

And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and

    slings to cast stones.15

And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoo

arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.16

    But when he was

strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD

to burn incense upon the altar of incense.17

And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that

    were valiant men:18

And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto

    the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed;

neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.19Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: andwhile he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, fr om beside

    the incense altar.20

And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and

they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.21

And Uzziah the king was a

leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham

his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.22

Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the

prophet, the son of Amoz, write.23

So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which

belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.Romans 13:1-6 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of

God.2Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves

damnation.3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good,

and thou shalt have praise of the same:4For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for h

beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.5Wherefore ye mustneeds be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers,

attending continually upon this very thing.

John 17:1-2 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son

also may glorify thee:2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

1 Corinthians 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have

put down all rule and all authority and power.1 Corinthians 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is

excepted, which did put all things under him.1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all

things under him, that God may be all in all. Titus 2 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

2That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in

charity, in patience.3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much

    wine, teachers of good things;4

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,5

To bediscreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

    6Young men likewise

exhort to be sober minded.7In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity,

sincerity,8Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of

    you.9Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

    10Not purloining

but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.11

For the grace of God that bringeth

salvation hath appeared to all men,12

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and

    godly, in this present world;13

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus

    Christ;14

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good

    works.15

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.Psalm 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.2 Chronicles 20:6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the

heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
