Term 1 Week 9 Monday, 21st March 2016 Principal’s Report Harmony Day and Grandparents Day Harmony Day/Grandparents Day will be celebrated this Wednesday. Our morning will begin with a parade at 9:40 under the shade cloth. This will be followed by an opportunity to visit classrooms. Morning tea will be served to our visitors in the hall from 11:30. Classes will resume their metables from 12:00. Students are invited to wear naonal costume or orange clothing to represent harmony. Parent/Teacher Interviews Our online booking system is now open so that parents are able to make a booking at a me that suits them. The instrucons are aached. Easter Raffle Our Easter Raffle will be drawn this Thursday with a large number of prizes to be won. Our thanks to Sarah Bouch and her team of talented helpers who again have sorted and beaufully presented over 100 prizes. Extra ckets are available from the office. Please return all ckets to the office as soon as possible. World’s Greatest Shave On Saturday, Jack B of Year 5, took part in the World’s Greatest Shave charity event to help raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundaon. The “shave” took place at “Just Hair” in Cox’s Road and many of our Trusco Street families, as well as total strangers, donated to the foundaon. Jack has raised over $1,100 an amazing effort as he officially signed up only a few weeks ago. Truscos Congratulaons to the following students who received their Trusco Award last week. Banjo F. Principal’s Report

Sport News

Summer and Winter P.S.S.A

Last Friday 18th March was the last round for

summer P.S.S.A in Term 1, summer matches will

recommence in Term 3. Round 1 for winter P.S.S.A

will commence on Friday 1st April.

Zone Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to all students who competed in

the Zone Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 8th March.

All swimmers put a huge effort into the races they

went in and also showed fantastic support and

encouragement for all other Truscott Street

students. Congratulations to Ashton G., Holly P. and

Jonathan C. for making it into the finals. Thank you

very much to Carmel Crook and Louise Gleeson for

being the team managers on the day. A fantastic

result for Truscott Street!

Representative Trials

Congratulations to all students who went to the

P.S.S.A rep trials for soccer and netball two weeks

ago. Kyle S., Jasmine C. and Breaghna W. were

successful in making it into the soccer teams.

Holly P. made the netball team and Nicholas A.

made it into the cricket team a few weeks ago.

Last week Kyle S., Jasmine C. and Nicholas A. made

it into the area team for their chosen sport and will

trial in a few weeks for the state teams. Well done

to all these students on an amazing achievement!

Nude Food Day

Tuesday 5th April is Nude Food Day at Truscott

Street School. Bring your lunch and recess without

any plastic or foil packaging. Paper is ok as it can be

shredded and put in the compost. There will be

special awards for the most creative and/or nude

recess/lunch boxes in each class.

Next term every Tuesday will be Nude Food Day!
