BACnet is a non-proprietary com-munications standard for building automation and is used as a data protocol. BACnet has meanwhile become an international standard ISO 16484-5.

SAMSON has integrated BACnet and implemented the BACnet Buil-ding Controller (B-BC) profile as well as additional functions into the products of the TROVIS 6600 Automation System.

The TROVIS 6610 CPU Module is certified in compliance with ISO 16484-6 and bears the BTL mark.

Mövenpick Hotel in Hamburg – In 2005, work began on a 20th century water tower, set on a hill in the middle of the Sternschanze public park in Hamburg, to con-vert it into a hotel. The hotel has 226 rooms, including 10 exclusive suites, on 17 floors.

As soon as a guest checks in at reception, the assigned room is brought to the right temperature thanks to the direct communica-tion between the hotel manage-ment system and the SAMSON automation system.

The automation system processes over 380 temperature input sig-nals and issues the corresponding control signals to the HVAC de-vices. In total, 1,500 physical data points are processed.

The TROVIS system for building automation can be used in HVAC applications, district heating and cooling networks, transfer stations and cogeneration plants.
