Coastal Sea Kayaking, February 8-10 $45, MS Gulf Coast, Level Two Pre-Trip Meeting February 5, 5-7 p.m. Join Auburn Outdoors as we load up our sea kayaks paddle out to beautiful Deer Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We’ll camp on the sandy south side of the island giving the group only the open ocean to admire. This paddle is on the ocean but does not expect large waves or difficulty.

Spring Break - Cumberland Island and Okefenokee Swamp, March 10-15 $225, Spring Break 2019, Level Two Mandatory Pre-Trip Meeting February 26, 5-7 p.m.Wild horses, sandy beaches, swamps, Spanish moss and lots of smiles. These are the promises of Spring Break with Auburn Outdoors. This trip will venture onto pristine, historic Cumberland Island off the Atlantic coast of northern Florida. Exploring this magical southeastern classic by backpacking will provide long lasting memories complete with watching the sunrise over the ocean. The scenery is beautifully unique and the trails can be strenuous, and rough at times. There will be no modern bathroom facilities on the trail. This trip also includes a two-night canoe trip in exotic Okefenokee Swamp where lily pads cover the tops of looming alligators. Cost includes transportation, camping and permit fees, instruction, food while camping, and equipment. Join us for this regional must-do multi-sport trip!

Stand-up Paddleboarding Day Trip, March 24 $15, Coosa River, Level One10 a.m. - 4 p.m.Spanish moss and sunshine will help separate yourself from the busy world around you on the serene waters of the Coosa River. With majority of the river being calm running water, there are some tougher rapids ranging from Class 1 to Class 3 (the famous Moccasin Gap). Cost includes transportation, instruction, lunch, and equipment.

Rock Climbing Weekend Trip, March 29-31 $45, Sand Rock, Alabama, Level Two Pre-Trip Meeting March 26 from 5 - 7 p.m.Just a few hours from Auburn, Sand Rock, Alabama, is home to some of the best climbing around. The rock is hard, high-quality sandstone, and the terrain includes free-standing pinnacles providing great climbing for all skill levels from jugfests to crimpy faces and fine crack lines. Camp and climb all weekend long! Make sure to complete a free Fundamentals of Climbing Workshop and become top rope verified before the trip. Cost includes transportation, camping fees, instruction, food while camping, and equipment. No refunds or transfers.

Flora and Fauna Night Hike, April 2Tuskegee National Forest, Level One5 - 8 p.m.Join Auburn Outdoors as we explore our own backyard and learn about the local Plants and Animals. This educational hike through the Tuskegee National Forest will be fun and rewarding. This 5-7 mile hike located 30 minutes from Auburn has moderate terrain that can be strenuous at times. There will be no modern bathroom facilities on the trail. Cost includes gear, transportation, and instruction. No refunds or transfers.

Arkansas Regional Adventure Program (ARAP) Conference, April 11-14$85, Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, Jasper, ArkansasThe Arkansas Regional Adventure Programming conference is a student-oriented programming weekend for individuals who want to connect with other outdoor education enthusiasts. ARAP is located at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, a nationally renown climbing destination. Access hundreds of climbing routes or paddle the scenic Buffalo National River. Leave with the group at noon on Thursday to drive to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Cost includes transportation, conference fees, and camping fees. Two meals are provided. No refunds or transfers.

Sunset Kayaking, April 17 $10, Lake Martin, Alabama, Level One3 - 9 p.m. Join us for an afternoon paddle and enjoy a sunset on one of Alabama’s most beautiful lakes. Escape Auburn at 3 p.m., drive to the lake and shove off into a quiet and serene cove of Lake Martin. Enjoy a peaceful paddle around an island to watch the sunset and then make your way back to the park. Cost includes transportation, instruction and equipment. No refunds or transfers.

Beginner Mountain Biking Trip with Dinner, April 22 $15, Chewacla State Park, Auburn, Alabama, Level One 4 - 9 p.m. Ride some of the best mountain bike trails in Alabama at Chewacla State Park, located right in your own backyard! Chewacla is home to 30+ miles of varied mountain bike trails suitable for all skill levels. Nothing is better after a good ride than a hot meal to celebrate Earth Day so we will be cooking delicious food to enjoy together. Members must be comfortable riding a bike but no mountain biking experience is necessary. This trip will be geared more towards individuals who are looking to get into the sport. Cost includes gear, transportation, instruction and food. No refunds or transfers.

Trip Ratings: • Level 1 – Low level of physical condition

is necessary and no experience is required.• Level 2 - Good physical condition is necessary,

little experience is required. • Level 3 - Excellent physical condition is

necessary, at least 6 months of mountain biking experience is necessary.

Intro to Road Biking Workshop, March 22 Free, Level OneAuburn Outdoors / Opelika, Alabama 2 - 4 p.m This workshop will introduce you to riding on the road and around Auburn. If you are looking to make the jump from commuting to recreational riding then this workshop will give you the resources and tools to make that happen.This relaxed group ride will set out from the rental shop and wind its way around Auburn making a total round trip of about 5 miles with options for more. We will provide road bikes and helmets free of charge! Cost includes instruction and equipment. Must be able to comfortably ride a bicycle.

Climbing Wall WorkshopsFundamentals of Climbing Free, Climbing Wall February: 25, 26, 27March: 5, 6, 18, 19, 26, 27April: 1, 9, 17, 22Learn how to belay and tie knots for top rope climbing. If you are interested in getting a top rope verification to be able to belay during normal hours of operation, this course will cover all information tested in the top rope certification test.

Anchor Building WorkshopClimbing WallDates: January 29, 6 - 8 p.m.Are you itching to get outside and climb, but you don’t have the skills necessary to set up a top rope? Come to this workshop and learn the basic principles of anchor building and a few different styles of top rope anchors. Top rope skills verification required. If unable to attend the workshop after registration, please communicate with [email protected], failure to communicate in advance will result in a $10 cancellation fee.

Lead Climbing WorkshopFreeClimbing WallFebruary 28, 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. and March 27, 6 - 9 p.m.Have you mastered top rope basics? Sign up to learn the basics of how to safely lead climb. Climbers must attend this clinic and pass skills verification before lead climbing at the climbing wall. Pre-requisites: Top rope skills verification and the ability to comfortably climb a 5.8

Trad is Rad Climbing WallMarch 3, 6 - 9 p.m.Are you a sport climber looking to advance your skills elsewhere? The Trad is Rad Workshop covers traditional rock climbing basics.

Learn how to use the gear, the basics of placing protection as you climb, a review on anchors, and basic rope management. Workshop prerequisites include top-rope skills and lead verifications with a preference to take our course or have knowledge of climbing anchors.

Ladies Night Cost: FREE Climbing WallMarch 20, 9 p.m. - 11 p.m.Join us at the climbing wall for our ladies climbing workshop! We will start off with some yoga, discuss female climbing strategies for all skill levels, listen to music, and climb as a community. All are welcome.

Route Setting 101 Workshop Cost: FREEClimbing WallFebruary 3, 6 - 9 p.m.Route Setting covers the basics of how to set bouldering problems. Learn to set quality problems safely and the mechanics of setting during this workshop. This workshop is required to set boulder problems at the Climbing Wall during open community setting times.

Community SettingCost: FREEClimbing WallMarch 24, 6 - 9 p.m. and April 18 | 9 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.Want to be involved with your climbing community and give back? Come and set some routes. Sessions are for members who have taken Route Setting 101. These fun social nights allow you to set new problems, get feedback from other climbers, and meet new people.
