DAY 3rd

First they got up at 5:30 a.m, took a shower and had breakfast at 6:30 a.m. to get ready to be at Guatape, El Peñol stone

and the Explora park at 7:30am

Description:Guatape dam is located in the municipality of Guatape, near Medellin. It is a large water reservoir built to produce electric power; in addition, it has become one of the most important touristis places of Colombia where visitours may enjoy boating, sailing and other water sports. It has many small islands and it is surrounded by beatiful nature, farms, and nice landscaping.

History: this dam was built in the late 1960s.

GUATAPE

activitiesThey left the hotel for Guatape dam where they enjoyed climbing El Peñol Stone and then took a tour on boat in Guatape dam. This boat tour is very exciting because we feel physical contact with the dam and its beatiful nature and islands.

Description:El Peñol stones is one of the tallest stones of the word; located in the municipality of Guatape. It is a touristic landmark that can be climbed to its stop by walking its 649 steps. From its top visitors can admire the greatness of Guatape dam and the beatiful landscape.

History:it climbed first time in 1954. It was planned to paint Guatape on the stone but because of problems with El Peñol just Gl was painted. Both municipalities claim ownership of the stone

EL PEÑOL STONE

activities they climbing in the peñol stone a long time because it has 649 steps, upon getting the top, there is a building with a cafeteria when you can buy drinks after a great climbing and a souvenils shop when you can buy objects about the region.

Description:Explora park is an interactive center to learn about Physics,Science and technology. It is a like to maloka it has many rooms, an aquarium, expositions room, tv study, and experiment rooms, to provide knowledge while enjoying.Its aquarium is the most diverse of South America, with river water and sea water species. It is wonderful to see strange, colorful, large, small and many characteristics of such a variety of species.

History: it was designed by Mr. Alejandro Echeverri, and inaugurated on December 08, 2007

EXPLORA PARK

activitiesAfter having lunch they went to Explora Park where they practiced several experimentations and atractions, one of then was to see how a ghost is created, how voice waves travel, electricity etc. They also admired many fish and reptile in the aquarium.

HOTEL

they arrived to the hotel and had dinner, them they had a cultural activity.
