FROM PASTOR BILL

I like the fact that Easter is a season and not a day. I like that Easter is celebrated every Sunday and not just one. It is true that the festival of the Resurrection of Our

Lord (Easter Sunday) is the high point of the worship year. However, such an important event takes more than one day to celebrate. So over the course of the next seven weeks we will hear more about how the resurrection of Jesus from the dead affected the first people of faith. I hope you will consider attending our Easter services as they continue to unfold over this 50 day season of Easter!

+++++++

I want to thank all of you who took the time to complete the Time and Talent Commitment forms. Your thoughtfulness around the opportunities for serving at Trinity is much appreciated. The hope of the Stewardship Committee was that everyone would be given the chance to volunteer for the many needs we have. In some cases we only received commitment from the people who are already involved. In other cases we got many new folks who have indicated a desire for new ways of serving. One thing I wanted to note is that it may take a few weeks before some of you will actually be incorporated into the various things you volunteered for. In some cases the ministries are not always ones we need consistently so it might be a while until you are asked (for example, funeral meals or temple talks). Our goal is that everyone who volunteered for something will be given the chance to serve. If that does not seem to happen, please say something!!

++++++

Just a note that Beth and I will be away at the end of this month for a week. We are leaving to visit our daughter, Maryellen and her husband, Ian. We will be away from April 26-May 3. If you have need of pastoral care during that time, please contact Donna Wolfe at the church office. In Christ, Pastor Bill DeHass

First Communion Instruction In preparation for celebrating First Communion on Pentecost Sunday – May 15 – Pastor Bill will be holding an instructional session for those desiring to be involved. Our policy at Trinity is that children may begin communing in the first grade or age equivalent. This is based on the parent’s determination of their child’s readiness for receiving the Sacrament. If you would like your child(ren) to receive instruction and begin receiving Communion, please contact Pastor Bill by phone (597-9348) or email – [email protected]

Thank you! To: The TELL and ET Youth groups for baking the Communion bread for Holy Week and Easter season!

To: The Easter Breakfast crew that prepared and served the meal: Bud Wolfe,

Dick Hall, Chuck Wunderlich, Rob Marsh, Terry Ellis and Charlie Ford!

To: The choir for leading worship at all three Holy Week Services and the early

service on Easter Sunday! Thank you all for your time and leadership! Thanks also

to Trevor Timmons and Saundra Wingert for the musical leadership at these services.

To: Jess Swart and Deb Cline for coordinating the Easter Egg Hunt this

year!

YOUTH SUNDAY – MAY 1

Just a reminder that on Sunday May 1 the

youth of the congregation will be leading

worship in music and proclamation. There

will be information about this during the

month of April.

Please remember these people! There are some folks from Trinity that are not able to be with us on Sundays at the present time. We ask that you would remember them with a card, call – and always – in prayer.

RESPITE STAYS AVAILABLE A respite stay is

a convenient option when planned or unforeseen

circumstances require you to seek temporary senior

housing for your loved one. Knowing they can

move seamlessly into a care environment that

supports their wellness needs provides peace of

mind when you are called away for business or

vacation, or if you just need a short break from care

giving.

A respite care stay also offers guests and family

members the extra security of personal assistance

during an illness or after a hospitalization.
