  • After Using the Pit Expansion Tool and Creating a SurfaceYou have theSurface of aPit mine withBenches andRoads.

  • Unfortunately This Pit Surface Will Fit the Existing Topography Only By ChanceAs can beSeen when bothSurfaces areTurned on,The pit mayWell extendAbove theExisting topoSurface.

  • The Objective is to Have a Complete Single Topo Surface with the Pit in PlaceWe start byCreatingA geometryObject to holdA mergedSingle surface

  • Make This New Surface the Open Edit Object(you highlightThe file andRight click toBring up thePop-up menu

    Then youHighlight andLeft click edit)

  • Next Go to the Surface Tab and Pick the Intersect Surfaces Tool from the Drop Down Menu

  • The Intersect Surfaces Tool Dialog Box OpensYou need toPick theSurfaces youWill work with.

    If they are byThemselves inA file you canUse the redButton objectTo pick themIn the menuEditor.

    The blue wormPicks them onThe screen.

  • Pick the Undisturbed Topo as PrimaryLeft click the blueWorm by primary

    Then left clickAnywhere on theTopo surface A pretty yellow boxAppears aroundYour selection.

  • Right Click On Your Mouse to Complete the SelectionThe box aroundThe surfaceTurns blue

    And the name ofThe surfaceAppears onThe primarySurfaces line.

    Now pick theBlue worm andGo after thePit surface asThe secondarySurface.
