Brows take focus with bold looks, as liner helps emphasise the natural shape. Colour-coordinate the liner to the brow, tracing a thin line that curves over the top of the hairs.

Eyes stand out with the application of Iridescent Metallics, applied in singular or dual shades for an evening-ready statement. Key colours range from gold and bronze to seasonal pastels.

Lashes are treated with ultra-defined looks for a striking finish, as multiple coats of mascara separate with spiky effects. Match with a subtle shadow or a hint of liner to keep focus on the lash.

This season, lashes take on an artificial feel with lab-grown looks. Saturated chemical shades of blue replace conventional mascara colours, applied liberally for maximum effect.

Ideal for spring, soft shades of Powdered Pastels lend an ultra-feminine feel to eyes. Shades like rose pink, mint green and peach are blended into each other for a multicoloured statement.

A stark yet subtle alternative to black, White Liner creates the illusion of larger eyes. Apply a flick of liquid liner to the top of the lid, or pair with a matching pencil on the inner rim for maximum effect.

Along with White Liner, ultra-pale lashes make a minimal statement this summer. Apply to both the top and bottom sets of lashes, finishing with a hint of pencil on the inner rim.

This summer, an elegant shade of Denim Teal takes on a shimmering intensity with a metallic finish, adding a statement touch to eyes. Apply to the inner corners for a subtle look, or smudge around the lid for futuristic glamour.

Spring/Summer sees bases take on a luminous quality, lending a subtle sheen. A natural complement to fresh-faced natural looks, keep eye makeup understated for a minimal chic.

Replacing conventional blush looks, we see temples catch the light with a subtle sheen. This trend works best on natural, dewy bases.

Miniature stars lend a decorative statement to cheeks this season, applied in placements tracing the cheekbone or as a sprinkling across the face. Small black designs look chic, while assorted stars make a whimsical statement.

This season, blush is applied in unusual placements for a striking beauty look. Rather than focusing on the apples of the cheeks, we see blush surface near the ears or just under the eyes.

This season, fresh, natural beauty looks are created with a focus on shades of Porcelain and Peach Amber. China doll skin (occasionally finished with white-out brows) is complemented by touches of pastel colour to the eye, cheek and lip.

Nails make a statement with foiled designs this season, standing out in shining two-tone or multicoloured looks. Dark-hued bases allow metallics and brighter shades to stand out in raw, abstract patterns.

An ideal trend for evening, nails take on smoky effects for a directional finish. Working with shades of black, grey and white, plain bases incorporate swirling tonal placements.

Nails express a split personality with Half Mani styles this season, as semi blocks of colour are applied to natural bases. Matte shades create a modern look, either in one tone or two.

This season, we see bold and vibrant graphics complete with a youthful feel re-dressed in ladylike shapes, as a touch of the Orient is introduced in shapes and details. Sports-inspired cleanliness injects a modern feel to styles.

This season, a Rad Rebel trend inspires bold and rebellious styles for grown women with an edge. Take ownership of pieces ‘borrowed from the boyfriend,’ as grunge nostalgia moves into modern looks. Baggy board shorts, oversized shirts and layering garments are all key.

A new take on rustic aesthetics is coming through this Spring/Summer season, as we see pastoral peasant looks updated with a contemporary flair to suit the modern wardrobe. Expect clean executions of country girl style with casual yet chic pieces like textured knit sweaters, broderie dresses and light cotton pinafores, saturated in neutral shades of cream and beige for a versatile appeal. Androgynous elements add interest to styling, as masculine trenches are paired with midi skirts, while belts cinch in long, loose silhouettes. An intensified update on Fall/Winter 2014-15’s Premium Magpie trend, this season sees a fixation with luxurious appliqué revved up to the max with hyper embellishment. The bling’s the thing in a big way, as jewels, gems and stones decorate any surface they touch, from casual daywear to statement evening styles. Fabrics sparkle and shimmer with textures that demand to be noticed, as seen in grungy sequined denim or bejeweled dresses. Layer on the accessories for maximum shine – think decadent necklaces, encrusted snapbacks or cluster placement clutches. With excess in everything, this is a trend where more is definitely more.

Print & Pattern Trend

PRINTS OVERVIEW | SPRING SUMMER 2016 A playful attitude emerges for

summer, informed by big, bold florals

and pop tropics inspirations. Influences

are sourced from upholstered fabrics

and interiors, along with Eastern

aesthetics and ditsy prairie florals.

Abstract patterns are still heavily

influencing print, complete with soft

marbling techniques and “work in

progress” painting effects.

Graphics take on a more mono mood

and conversational prints continue to

reference the Surrealist movement.

ABSTRACT POP TROPICS Tropical prints capture the optimism of summer with bold pop colours and abstract aesthetics. We see palm leaf placements and oversized foliage stand out in playful patterns.

DITSY PRAIRIE FLORALS Ditsy florals inspire notions of the springtime prairie, on show in delicate repeat patterns. Classic flower motifs take on a modern freshness when applied to clean white bases.


CONTOUR BLOCKINGS Colour blocking is updated with curved contours for a feminine finish. Bold primaries pop against neutral bases, as supersized floral inspirations look fresh for spring.

DALI’S GIRL Inspired by the Surrealist movement, prints get expressive with artistic statements like body parts, manipulated portraits and placements. Collaged graphics and spliced effects are also key.


WORK IN PROGRESS PAINT Another example of this season’s artistic influence, products are transformed into canvases for painterly masterpieces yet to be completed. Clean white bases stand out with raw brush strokes and daubed patterns.

ESTERN ETCHINGS Taking their cue from the traditional art of Japanese etchings, all-over prints are formed with linear effects. Scratchy patterns stand out in geo form, often executed in two-tone colourways.


BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL FLORALS Summer florals are amplified with a big, bold intensity, complete with vibrant colours and oversized proportions. Pastel shades and stark outlines help emphasise this ultra-feminine trend.

SOFT MARBLING MOOD An evolution of last season’s Mountain Minerals trend, prints resemble natural stone with Soft Marbling effects. Pale pastel shades and watercolour patterns create an elegant feel.


URBAN STREET GRAPHICS Prints echo the spirits of the streets with the stark urban graphics in monochrome shades. Highlights include newspaper type slogans, photoreal skyscraper graphic and textured effect that resembled granite.

Material Trend

Rustic qualities are key this season, complete with raw canvas,

casual cottons, rough knits and loose ends. We see a draped

weights trend emerging with flowing and fluid lines. Sand-Washed

Silks are a prime example.

Qualities are inspired by interiors, complete with puckered textures

and new takes on jacquard. Sheers add sophistication with

lightweight, translucent form. A focus on softness sees fluffy and

micro film materials appeal to the touch.

RAW CANVAS

Derived from the linen family, hessian qualities are refined to create natural, un-dyed textures with a focus on the original fabric.

PUCKERED SURFACES

Materials incorporate ruches and pleats to form raised surfaces with a play on 3D effects.

CUT-OUT COTTONS

Fabrics from the cotton family are updated with the use of laser-cutting and lace techniques, forming modern patterns with a nod to anglaise.
