gRowIng UP-2592This little girl has decked up in order to look just like her mother and she even wore her mother’s sandals! Even though the sandal is too big to fit her tiny feet, she seemed to have put in a lot of effort to keep her balance wearing it. But what she doesn’t know is that she will one day have to fill in these shoes once she grows up to take responsibilities.

a SCRaPPy famILyBased upon the children’s novel “Here Be Monsters” by Alan Snow, The Boxtrolls is an adventurous and adorable movie. The Boxtrolls are a group of weird, ill-behaved underground trash collectors. They find an orphaned boy, Eggs and lovingly raise him as their own. The Boxtrolls have built an incredibly enormous house under the streets of Cheesebridge where they raise Eggs. The story is of how Eggs tries to save his friends from Archibald Snatcher, who is an evil pest killer and the villain of the story. When Snatcher comes up with an evil plot to get rid of the Boxtrolls, Eggs decides to go above to the ground and “into the light,” where he meets Winnie, an amazingly wholehearted girl. The team up together and make a brave plan to save the Boxtrolls family. You should definitely watch this movie with your friends or family. Have fun!

tREE gIftSIf you are planning on reading something fun, get yourself “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein. Now what is the book about? Trees are nature’s gift to man. The story is of a female apple tree and a boy who can talk to the tree. In his childhood, the boy enjoys playing with the tree, climbing it’s trunk and eating the apples. Soon he grows up and becomes a teenager and starts to ask for things from the tree. With everything he asks for, he has to sacrifice some parts of the tree. In doing so, all that is left of the tree is a stub. The book is indeed wonderful and enjoyable to read.

ClothingIt is normal for men in Scotland to wear “skirts” or “kilts,” as they like to call it. It is a part of their tradition to wear kilts and do not be surprised when you see a group of brothers walking down the streets of Scotland dressed in their Sunday kilts. Their kilts can be very colourful and very bright.

InstrumentScotland has their own traditional instrument called the bagpipes. They are very muvh like the flute but are much harder to play than a regular flute. A bagpipe has many pipes and a bag filled with air. You have to blow into the pipes much like a flute to make the tune you want and keep playing it with both hands. It needs a great amount of skill to play the bagpipes.

LegendThe lakes of Scotland also known as “Loch Ness” in the Scottish highlands have been known to be the home of the great Loch Ness Monster. Even though no one has seen the Loch Ness Monster, yet in films and books it is believed that the creature is very friendly and nice.

Haggis is basically a sausage made with the heart, liver and lungs of a sheep mixed with spices, oatmeal, salt and stock. It is usually served with turnips and potatoes, and is the national dish of Scotland. Both kids and adults all around Scotland are always up for a plate of haggis as it is very tasty and filling. What you will need:• Craftsticksorice-creamsticks• Glue• Colouredpaper• Ribbon• Scissors• Paintbrush• Tubeshapedcardboardcontainer (like a Pringles can)• Rubberbands

How to do it:Cut down the container so that it’s about the same height as the craft sticks. Also cut the paper to fit around the container. Use the glue to attach the paper to the container. Let it dry. Apply glue on one side of the craft sticks and paste them over the container. Make sure to cover the whole container with sticks. Wrap the rubber bands around the container so the craft sticks dry in place. Once dry, remove the rubber bands. Tie a ribbon around the container to make it look better.

Atlantis is a legendary "lost" island subcontinent often seen as an advanced, perfect society holding wisdom that could bring world peace. The idea of Atlantis has fascinated adventurers, historians and mystery solvers for years. Unlike many legends whose origins have been lost in the mists of time, we know exactly when and where the story of Atlantis first happened. The story was first told in two of Plato's speeches, the "Timaeus" and the "Critias," written about 330 B.C.

Plato shows Atlantis as an island bigger than Libya and Asia Minor set up together in the Atlantic simply past the lands of Hercules. Its society was very modern and it had a government like the one in Plato's "Republic." Legend has it that Atlantis was protected by the god Poseidon,

who made his son Atlantis the ruler of the city which the island and the surrounding ocean its name. As the Atlanteans grew more powerful, their morals fell. Atlantis came under attack of natural accidents such as tremors and earthquakes and eventually sank in a night and a day into the sea around 9600 BC.

Every once in a while, archeologists spot a swampy, ancient city in waterfront Spain, a creepy undersea city of rock in the Bahamas—that may be a source of the Atlantis story. Of these, the site with the most facts is the Greek island of Santorini, a half-submerged island made by the enormous volcano going off, whose eruption may have ended the civilization completely.
