Readers, this week our favourite teacher is Fazle Rabbi. He finished his SSC and HSC from Sylhet Cadet College. Afterwards, he completed his Masters from Dhaka University in Economics. Although a diehard fan of Formula Racing and exploring new adventures, watching documentaries and reading books, Rabbi choose his profession as a teacher, as nothing beats his enthusiasm towards Economics. From 2007-2008, Rabbi taught in Bangladesh International Tutorial. From 2009 onwards he has been teaching A level Economics at the Aga Khan School, Dhaka.

Things you need• Old lamp with a paper shade• Fabric to cover lampshade• Hot glue• Iron• Scissors• Wrapping paper• Permanent marker• Painter’s tape• Decorative ribbon• Decorative trim

What to doRoll out the wrapping paper onto the work surface. Secure it properly.

Roll the lampshade in the paper until you reach the taped edge. Trim off any extra paper.

Meet the two edges and tape the area. Using a permanent marker, trace the top and bottom edge of the lampshade onto the wrapping paper. Remove the wrapping paper.Use scissors to create a lampshade template.

diffErEnT shadEs of colours

You will need• A candle• Matches• Pin or Paper Clip• Cup with water• Salt, pepper, flour or any powder

like stuff from the kitchen Step 1Tell your parents or a guardian to light the candle.

Step 2Take the salt and pour a bit of it into a small dish.

Step 3Wet the tip of the paper clip or pin in the cup of water.

Step 4Dip the tip of the paper clip or pin into the salt. Try to get some of the salt to stick.

Step 5Now, carefully, stick the tip of the paper clip or pin with the salt on it into the candle flame. Notice the colours com-ing from the salt!

Step 6Take the paper clip or pin out of the flame as soon as the colours stop. It will get hot if you leave it in the flame too long. Do the same thing with different ingredients from the kitchen! What col-ours do you get from pepper? Flour? Baking soda?

How does this work?Different chemicals give off different colour flames when they burn. By try-ing different elements on the pin, you may be able to see yellow, green, blue or other colours. By using very specific chemicals, these crackers produce the amazing colours that we see in the skies! afShan SattaR

Goldfish make great pets for those who aren’t being able to keep pets like cats, or dogs. Taking care of them can be easy if you follow these simple rules.

TankGoldfishes grow to about 10-12 inches and if you are planning to keep more than three, you might as well get a large tank. Add water based on the number of goldfishes for example: 10 gallons for one goldfish, 20 for two and so on.

swallow or small rocks which won’t get stuck in your fish’s throat. If your fish tank has a light, keep it lit for 12 hours each day. You can also put in some artificial plants to pretty up your fish’s home.

FilterInstalling a filter in the tank will help clean the fish’s waste out of the wa-ter. Clean water will keep your fish healthy and happy.

Cleaning the tankIf you don’t want your fish to be un-happy, clean out the aquarium once every two weeks.

FoodFeed your fish 1-3 times daily. Keep track of time; you wouldn’t want to over-feed your pet.

TemperatureGoldfish like to live in temperatures like 15-20 °C in the winter. Remember that they will not eat below 10-14 °C.

Iron the fabric and pin the pattern to it. Hot-glue the unironed edge of the fabric along the existing seam on the lampshade.

Apply the glue on top of the folder. Decorate with ribbons as you please.

What comes next is the unexpected twist which poses a threat to Tintin’s life. Moreover, the secret behind the ship is also revealed. Although adopting a book into a film brings in loads of criticism, this movie definitely maintained up to its original book. Do not miss out on this adventurous film!

omnivErsEAfter both Gwen and Kevin (Ben’s previous experienced partners) leave, Ben Tennyson is teamed up with rule-following rookie partner Rook Blonco. Together, they explore new areas and fight new villains, all the while being tracked by the greatest huntsman in the universe, Khyber. This new form of Ben 10 has Ben venturing out on his own. While the previous series’ had also done this, what’s new in Omniverse is that Ben is now the one calling all the shots, with his new partner not completely being able to stop Ben’s reckless side. Ben has lost some of the maturity gained in Alien Force and now, thinks of himself more of a superhero than a plumber (alien peacekeeper). As a result, Ben not only has aliens to deal with, but his own ego too. Airing on Cartoon Network, this new show holds a lot of potential and promise and can easily become anyone’s favourite!
