The Climate Reality Project India and Paharpur Business Centre in partnership with Earth Day Network, celebrated Earth Day 2017 in Delhi-NCR schools, by inviting schools to hold a tree plantation drive in their school campus across Delhi-NCR area.

Under this campaign, around 25 schools joined the movement and conducted a tree plantation drive on 21st April at sharp 8:00 AM in their school campus and celebrated Earth Day 2017.

Dignitaries from 18 embassies and other senior officials joined the various schools and planted tree saplings with children, to celebrate Earth Day 2017 and supported environment and climate literacy, the theme for this Earth Day.

Tree saplings were planted together by guests from different embassies and children, school heads and teachers. Children also pledged that they would take care of the saplings for next one year and share the growth of their plants with us.

The objective of the campaign is to support environment and climate literacy, by planting tree saplings and building awareness about clean energy.

Celebrating Earth Day in schools reminds every student to be an environmental and climate literate citizen, ready to take an action and be a voice for conservation and change.

MAHARAJA AGARSAIN PUBLIC SCHOOL

The teachings of Lord Mahavira guide the whole humanity to lead a balanced and sustainable life by taking care of Ecology and

Environment in particular. They continue to be as relevant today as they were 2600 years ago. Lord Mahavira preached a universal

truth,”One who neglects or disregards the existence of earth, air, fire, water and vegetation disregards his own existence which is

entwined with them”. We at Jain Bharati Mrigavati Vidyalaya join the grassroot effort and get our hands green!

To ensure our students become global green citizens and keeping the motto , that ‘we are a part of nature, not apart from nature’

students of classes 3,4 & 5 up took a variety of activities including a SUMMIT, rally, plantation drive, cleanliness drive and role play

to sensitize others that this precious gift should be nurtured, preserved and reserved for the next generations....

April 22 is the Earth day aiming to inspire awareness and appreciation of earth’s environment. It is all about appreciating the

uniqueness of our planet earth with incredible biodiversity. Activities are conducted to understand the biodiversity and how should

we protect our nature –plants, animals and environment.

With the above objective in mind, ‘Earth Day’ week was celebrated in Presidium Dwarka 22.

Somebody has very aptly remarked – “We have not inherited the earth from our ancestors rather we have borrowed it from next

generation”If we reflect with intent on the above statement, we are able to realize the daunting challenge that we have to fulfill.

Rather it is really disheartening to see the level of environmental degradation that has happened over the past few years. The

impact of the same is being witnessed by us in the form of global warming, rising temperatures and the other natural disturbances.

The Climate Reality Project

In 2006 Climate Reality Project Chairman and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore sparked an international conversation on climate change with his Academy Award-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. It was just the beginning of a climate revolution, and a year later he founded The Climate Reality Project to take the conversation forward and turn awareness into action. The Climate Reality Project has branches in 10 countries and presence in more than 135 countries, and has reached more than 70 million people with its message.

The Climate Reality Project, India being an independent chapter of this international organization was established in March 2008 with the help of Al Gore and Dr. R K Pachauri. In 2009, it was incorporated as a trust in Mumbai with eminent Indians as trustees.

Our mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every level of society.

Indian branch looks after about 500 trained Climate Leaders and more than 800 volunteers spread all over the country.

PBC is the first retrofit office building in India that is USGBC LEED Platinum EB Certified (2010) and a BEE 5star rated building with current annual energy hourly energy rating (AAhEPI) of <20 Wh /hr/sqm and the endeavour is to bring it down further.

Modest improvements in air quality may have a profound impact on the decision making performance. Keeping Human Experience in view, at PBC we offer an indoor environment that has low VOCs, CO2, PM 2.5 & 10, SOx, NOx and Ozone levels, and highly oxygenated – a Rare Practice in the corporate for Wellness.

The indoor air @ PBC is as fresh as one would get, up in the mountains of Davos or Gulmarg.
