Through the use of vegetation and landform, this spatial design expresses both a utilitarian and experiential function— accommodating pedestrian circulation and the opportunity to engage its users through contemplation. Hadrian’s Villa is an important cultural and archaeological site 18 miles outside of Rome. The Emperor Hadrian used this retreat getaway as a place to live, house his government and be secluded.
