DAY ONE Monday, April 27 Depart Our journey begins as we board our plane to Munich. IF DAY TWO Monday, April 28 Depart Upon arrival, we meet our driver and a local guide as we are introduced to the city of Gemühtlichkeit (Good Cheer!) Our tour includes Marienplatz, the Glockenspiel, Nymphenburg Palace, and the aromas of the Viktualienmarket. We check into our hotel and enjoy some free time before dinner at the world-famous Hofbräuhaus. IF/D DAY THREE Tuesday, April 29 Munich Today we visit a German hospital. In the afternoon, we drive to Dachau to remember a sobering time in history. B DAY FOUR Wednesday, April 30 Munich Free day! Options include one of Munich’s famous art museums, a stroll through the city center, or a visit to the BMW Museum. B DAY FIVE Thursday, May 1 Munich Today we visit the woodcarving village of Oberammergau, renowned for the brightly colored frescoes that adorn its homes and shops. We will explore the village with a local guide, visit with a local woodcarver, and have time to explore the quaint village and shops. We then continue to Linderhof, the showplace castle of the eccentric Bavarian King Ludwig II; and to the Wieskirche, the Church in the Meadow, to hear its famous story. B DAY SIX Friday, May 2 Freiburg This morning we head for the Black Forest, land of elves and cuckoo clocks. In Triberg, we visit the House of 1,000 Clocks; in Gutach, we tour Vogtsbauerhof, an open-air museum, to learn about the architecture, traditions, and customs of the people who have lived and farmed here for the past 400 years. Our hotel is nestled in the region. B DAY SEVEN Saturday, May 3 Strasbourg This morning we cross the Rhine River to Colmar, a historic city of half-timbered burghers’ houses, red- and green-tiled roofs, and cobbled lanes spared the ravages of WWII. Colmar is Alsace’s most beautiful city and full of hidden treasures that we’ll discover on our guided tour. Later we travel the Alsace Route du Vin en route to Strasbourg. This famous wine road winds its way through storybook villages, castle ruins, and vineyards as we learn about WW II history in the area. In Strasbourg we tour the capital of Alsace and the heart of United Europe, visiting Cathedrale Notre-Dame and going down canals and pedestrian alleyways to the medieval section known as Petite France. B

DAY EIGHT Sunday, May 4 Paris We depart for Paris today and head in a westerly direction, passing near Verdun, where 800,000 lives were lost in the horrific first world war. We stop in Reims, where 26 French kings were crowned and where champagne first bubbled. In the Capital of Champagne, we tour a Champagne Cave and sample the sparkling wine. B DAY NINE Monday, May 5 Paris A local guide joins us as we explore the City of Lights. Our morning tour includes many of the major sights of the city, including the Eiffel Tower, the Arch de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees, and Notre Dame. This afternoon we visit the Louvre, one of the world’s most magnificent museums. B DAY TEN Tuesday, May 6 Paris This morning we visit a local hospital, possibly Robert Bebre, a pediatrics hospital in the heart of Paris. The rest of the day is free until our farewell dinner at a popular local restaurant. B/D DAY ELEVEN Wednesday, May 7 Paris Free day! Art lovers may want to spend part of the day at the Museum d’Orsay, Rodin Museum, Picasso Museum or Pompidou Center. Others may wish to shop in the boutiques near the opera house, along the Champs-Elysees, or along the wide walkways that line the Seine River. You’ll have a Metro Pass to aid in your exploration. B/D DAY TWELVE Thursday, May 8 Return Unfortunately, it's time to transfer to the airport and return to Omaha. We return with memories of beautiful coast lines, grandeur of Germany, the allure of Paris and a wealth of knowledge! Welcome home. B/IF IF = In Flight meals B = Breakfast L = Lunch D = Dinner
