BEAD & SCOOBY WIRE ITEMS

Skilled wire artisans shape the wire frames using pliers and galvanised wire. The frames are then given to Zulu beaders who then select and thread the glass beads onto wire lengths which they then wrap around the frames creating your unique handcrafted gift. For the Scooby wire animals, plastic coated coloured wire is carefully wrapped around the wire frames by crafters to create your unique handcrafted gift.

The blankets are made by a registered NPO and Training Centre Trust which was started in 1986 to alleviate poverty in the areas surrounding Botha’s Hill and the Valley of a Thousand Hills in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Due to the success in these areas, training is now held throughout the entire province. They conduct skills training to develop unique craft products as an income generation project for community members through-out Kwa-Zulu Natal.

PHOTO STORIES

We are happy to supply an electronic photo story of your order. This will detail the “story” behind the order. It will document the whole process of making the order. It will detail in pictures and words what waste was used, the production process and the end product made. Also provide facts such as how many jobs were created or machines bought from the order. Below is an example of conference bags made for the 2013 Microsoft TechEd conference held in Durban at the ICC.

The billboards below that would normally go to a landfill site and take 500+ years to biodegrade were used to create a unique conference bag for Microsoft

This order for 2300 conference bags resulted in an additional 5 full time jobs created over the 2 month period and an additional 4 people who assisted with cleaning, quality and packing the bags. From the profits of the order the owner invested in a much needed machinary.
