Bridge Breaking Competition
Presented by
MaineDOT
UMaine ASCE Student Chapter will host the Bridge Breaking Competition at the 69th Maine Transportation Conference.
Challenge your co-workers, consultants, contractors and students!
Show off your engineering skills!
Bridge Kits are available for $20 from:
Garrett [email protected]
The kits will be mailed upon request, but no later than November 13th, so bridges can be painstakingly designed and built in advance.
Bridges will first be weighed and then tested to failure in a test frame.
The most efficient (strength-to-weight ratio) bridge will win! Prizes will be awarded for First- and Second-Place bridges and for the Top Student Bridge. Rules for this year’s contest will be provided in the kit.
