Granja Viana: a community 20 miles from the biggest economic and financial center in South America. We made a choice: migrating from the big city to live near the green belt of So Paulo.
TGV TRANSITION GRANJA VIANAGranja Viana: a community 12 km from the biggest economic and financial center of South America. We are a community near the main urban center in Brazil: So Paulo City, the capital of the richest state of Brazil. The metropolitan region of So Paulo City has 19 million inhabitants, the State of So Paulo is slightly larger than the UK, has 645 cities. Brazil has 40 million inhabitants and accounts for33.9% of the country's GDP, that is 1/3 of the whole country.Granja Viana includes seven municipalities (Cotia, Carapicuba, Barueri, Jandira, Itapevi, Embu das Artes and Osasco). We are about 30.000 habitants. Size of the region??We made a choice: to migrate from the big city to live near the green belt of So Paulo. Close enough to enjoy what a big city can offer and far enough to have a better quality of life.We are a community basically formed by families who came mainly from So Paulo City, with medium and high income, surrounded by poor districts, which we call "dormitory towns or even satellite cities. In our community, we also live the social contrast of the whole country: the unequal distribution of income.A great part of the inhabitants of Granja Viana use to work, study orget specialized services in the big city nearby, as well as enjoy its cultural life. However, we feel that the trend is also to do a transition toward consuming products, services, art and culture of high quality in our community. 24

SOS Pedestrian!Petition created with the purpose of claiming the municipal government to install "crosswalks" in places with large flow of people like: School of Granja Viana (Rua Jos Flix de Oliveira), Forest Village (Av. So Camilo) , Supermarket Serrano (Rua Jos Flix de Oliveira) and Warehouse Nicholas (So Camilo Avenue). The absence of bands hinders the crossing and endanger the lives of students, workers and pedestrians in general.http://www.peticaopublica.com.br/?pi=P2012N24280
