Autotransformer – is a transformer with one winding per phase. Part of the winding is common to both primary and secondary circuits, thus providing no isolation.Core Loss – Losses due to magnetization of the core and eddy currents produced within the core.Delta (Δ)– A common three phase connection in which the start of one winding is connected to the finish of the previous winding to form a closed loop.Dry Type Transformer – is a transformer which uses air as a cooling medium.Efficiency – The ratio of input power to output power usually expressed as a percentage.Electrostatic Shield – a grounded copper foil or sheet placed between two windings to reduce noise between the windings or the windings and ground.Exciting Current – The current which flows in the primary with the load disconnected, ie.
