The title here, is presented spaced out, and in capital letters fairly small compared to the main image, not detracting from the main image, due to it being a well known film, not needing to show of the title. Slightly different to the font shown in the previous transformers posters, this one being more subtle and tasteful, suggesting a whole new story for the transformers films. However, it is in roughly the same place as previous titles which still gives a sense of consistency.

The poster mentions that is a Michael Bay film above the title, being on it’s own conveys importance, also being on top of the title conveys power. I noticed that there is a tag line on this poster, however, on other posters it is “Be Afraid of the Dark”, this one is ‘Stand together or face extinction’ this sets the tone of fear for the audience, and keeping them on edge creating the though of it perhaps being ‘the end’ for Transformers. Audiences may also be enticed by the fact that it is being release in cinemas for 3D viewings, putting it in bold conveying importance and pride, and also with the good quality CGI that has been used giving audiences extra quality while watching and enjoying the film.

The release date, June 27th, shown in bold at the bottom of the poster, is at key time to watch as target market (teens) are on break, which is an appropriate time for maximum viewing opportunities. This means that it will be released out on DVD just in time for the Christmas season; so it will be a potential present for many people to buy and sales of the copies will increase.

This poster appeals to the target audience firstly through its use of picture which has used a camera angle which is tilted up towards the Transformer, like in the last transformers poster, This suggests that he is powerful and is something we should fear, and so should the people of the torn down city in which it seems to be attacking. The uncertainty behind the picture creates enigma for the audience as they wonder why the Transformers are back causing chaos and destruction. This makes the audience ask questions therefore resulting in them wanting to see the film to get the answer. There are also 3 characters on the poster, one of whom being in the middle, to perhaps convey importance, also showing of that it is a big actor appearing in the film which may further persuade people to watch the film, they all look like they are in battle, looking concentrated.

There is a lot of black contained within the poster; this colour indicates power, death, evil, mystery. This also creates a sense of enigma from the aggressive colour scheme that has a negative connotation which contrasts well with some of the bright colours that are also used.

The institution information, can not be read well to the viewer, so it does not detract from the main image but includes producers. However, they have not shown of the fact that it is a paramount film so large like they have ‘Michael Bay’
