5. Stay Wire
a) The stay wire shall be of 7/8 SWG stranded steel wire (7/4.1mm) and ultimate tensilestrength of the guy wire is 6400 Kg for a safety factor of 2.5. The permissible tension in one
guy is 2560 Kg.
b) Two C type guy insulator to be used & minimum failing load of 88 KN and to be located 3mtr away from ground level
c) The diameter of anchor rod & turn Buckle rod is 20 mm. The anchor rod length is 1800 mmwhile that of turnbuckle rod is 450 mm
d) GI thimble to be used with anchor rod
e) Inclination angle of stay wire is 30-40 degrees
6. Fencing
The height of the fencing shall be of 1.8 mtr. The fencing mesh shall be mesh 10 SWG GI, 50 mm x
50 mm GI Chain Link, 50x6 mm MS Angle, 35 x 6 mm MS Angle and 25 x 3 mm MS flat for fencing
fabrication.
7. Yard Lighting
a) The light fitting 40 watts, fluorescent light shall be provided of reputed make vizPhilips/Bajaj/Crompton Greaves etc.
b) 10 Amps Double pole Miniature Circuit Breaker of 9 KA Interruption Capacity and 4 wayterminal block.
8. Earthing Electrodes

Specification of Components:
1) RSJ Joist Poles:
All poles must be painted with two coats of red oxide and one coat of aluminum paint before
erection and final coating can be done after erection. Total DFT must be 80 microns minimum.
Single Circuit Line:
a) 9.50 Mtr long, 175x87x8 mm RSJ Joist pole shall be used for internal lines
b) The base plate size 300x300x6 mm shall be welded to the bottom of the joist
c) The factor of safety for RSJ Joist pole is 2
Double Circuit Line:

2) Reinforced Cement Concrete Poles (RCC):
9.14 mtr, 256 Kg safe working load, concrete ratio shall be 1:1.5:3, factor of safety is 2.5
The metal cross arm and the insulator pins shall be bonded together and earthed at every pole.
Pole earthing shall be done with 8 SWG GI wires closely wound 115 turns of 50 mm dia. andburried in the earth nearby pole concrete at the depth of 1.5 mtr from ground level in every pole.
The Earth resistance shall be of less than 10 Ohm. If achieving more than 10 ohms, multiple
earthing arrangement shall be done till achieving of less than 10 Ohms.
3) Stay with Guy Insulator:

Important:

16. DEHN GUARD Earthing should be connected with LA Earth. 6 mtr 1core x 10 Sq.mm supplied
with capacitor panel for DEHN GUARD earth connection.
17. Cable length from tower to transformer must be used as is (22 mtr for G58) and looping mustbe done outside and inside the transformer yard. 12 times x OD of the cable bending radius to
be maintained for circle loop.
18. 1 KV megger to be used for transformer LV-E insulation resistance testing and 2.5 KV megger
to be used for HV-LV & HV- E insulation resistance measurements. 5/10 KV megger to be
used for XLPE cable insulation resistance tests.
19. For Earth resistance measurement, 0-20/200 Ohms, 160 rpm, 3-Pole with selector switch
megger to be used.
20. 'I' Clamp-50 x65x6 mm angle, 50x6 clamps and 5/8'' GI nut and bolts to be used foroverhead lines.
The contractor should be well acquainted with IE Rules 1956, The Electricity Act 2003,Indian Telegraphic Act 1889, EB Rules, and CEIG rules and all the EB & CEIG
requirements must be fulfilled for installations.
