Central Idea Migration is a response to human circumstances and
challenges
An inquiry into ● Causes and effects of migration on geography, communi-
ties, cultures and individuals ● Human migration throughout history ● Relationship between migration and sustainability.
In the Inquiry students
Tuned into the Transdisciplinary Theme Where we are in place and time by listening to the
story—Grandfather’s Journey
Decoded the central idea - Migration is a response to human challenges and circumstances
Interacted with Ms. Manju Sharma to get a first hand experience of the various facets of
migration
In Language students
Review assessment on the concepts covered in grade 2
Revisited nouns
Sorted nouns into proper and common nouns
In Mathematics students
Review assessment on the concepts covered in grade 2
Pre-assessment– Place value till Hundreds
Brainstormed on the needs for Place value.

ART The students of grade 3 were introduced to ‘Aboriginal Art’ in their first week of school. They
observed a few artworks and studied commonalities and patterns in the form. They were intro-
duced to signs and symbols in Aboriginal Art and explored reading the paintings through these

Practiced ball passing, receiving and dribbling.
ICT During the introductory ICT classes the students discussed the role, importance and limitations of
using computers in our lives. They were also assessed on their prior knowledge of the subject to
gauge the different levels of understanding and skills that each child is at.
Further, they were familiarized with the ICT room, the equipment lying there, and the rules to be
followed while in ICT room.
