Transatlantic sets the standard for operations in Arctic waters.

Transatlantic has de veloped an integrated operation system that combines offshore and ice management services. The system provides our customers with safe, efficient operations that reduce environmental foot-print.

Transatlantic Ice MasterThe Transatlantic Ice Master is a tool for Arctic offshore

operations, developed in cooperation with SSPA in Gothen-

burg. Transatlantic Ice Master is a total approach to offshore

support operations during Arctic conditions, such as towage,

anchor handling, supply, ice management as well as environ-

mental protection services.

Based on a series of variables and the customers specific

targets, an optimal operational set up can be calculated giving

the probability of achieving the desired operational goals. All

our experience from Arctic operations is integrated in the mod-

el and new experience is continuously fed into the system. The

Transatlantic Ice Master enables our customers to accurately

calculate the optimal solutions for complex Arctic operations.

Transatlantic Ice AcademyTransatlantic Ice Academy is a unique, company-sponsored

training program that provides cutting-edge training in ice

management and icebreaking. The Transatlantic Ice Academy

offers theoretical and practical ice training to Transatlantic and

to the officers and crew of clients/partners, thus preparing

them for demanding operations in icy conditions.

The current training programs consist of the following:

“Ice training”, “Arctic training”, “Cold climate shipping” and

“Dynamic positioning operations in Arctic waters”.

In the Ice Academy’s advanced vessel simulator, it is also

possible to set up an entire Arctic offshore operation in order

to train the crews in advance of the actual Arctic operation.

The Transatlantic Ice Academy is operated in partnership

with the Kalmar Maritime Academy and is approved by the

Swedish Maritime Authorities to issue the official ice endorse-

ment required to work under icy conditions.

Transatlantic Ice CouncilThe Transatlantic Ice Council is an international ice advisory

board, established independently from Transatlantic, with the

objective of providing ice management and icebreaking advice

based on the collective experience of its members. The Ice

Council advises Transatlantic and its clients on how to cope

with challenging icy conditions and develop new methods for

safe and efficient operations.

The leading international ice experts on this advisory board

are from Sweden, Finland, Russia, Canada, Germany and the

United States and have been selected for their experience and

operational excellence.

The goal is to share best practices and knowledge in respect

of safe and efficient operations in the sensitive Arctic environ-

ment. The Transatlantic Ice Council is funded by Transatlantic

but is an independent body with its own agenda. Its Chair-

man is Anders Backman, former head of the Swedish State

icebreaking services and an internationally recognized expert

in Arctic marine operations.
