ABOUT THE FIRM

Name of Firm: SRISHTI Architects, Planners & Interior Designer

Name of the Principal Architect: CHANDRA PRAKASH CHAWLA

SRISHTI, established in 1988, has emerged as a reputed

firm offering consultancy in architecture, and allied fields.

We have steadily grown as an organization doing projects of various natures and magnitudes

today. Over the years, we have deal with apartments, offices, commercial and industrial

buildings, residences, weekend retreats, public parks, nursing homes, hospitals, landscapes

and interiors etc. We have an enviable track record of handling more than a hundred projects

to our credit.

We are a strong team of dedicated architects, engineers and other professionals who place a

high value on professional excellence. We are fully equipped with computer-aided design

tools and keep abreast of the latest developments in architecture and allied disciplines.

We strive for professional excellence and focus on intrinsic values in design, fine detailing

and sound construction practice. It is always our endeavour to respond with speed,

quality, innovation and economy with due regard to client orientation.

ABOUT THE ARCHITECT

The Principal Architect of the firm, Mr. C. P. Chawla studied architecture at the Government

College of Architecture, Lucknow and is registered with the Council of Architecture, New

Delhi and is an Associate member of the Indian Institute of Architects, Mumbai.

He received professional training in the office of M/s. Raj Rewal Associates, New Delhi and

worked as an architect in the office of M/s. Stein, Doshi and Bhalla, N. Delhi before working

briefly for the Varanasi Development Authority and subsequently starting his own private

practice in Varanasi.

During his tenure as architect in Varanasi Development Authority, he was closely associated

with the Landmark Sarnath Development Master Plan prepared by the Department of

Landscape Architecture, University of Illinois, U.S.A. He was invited to the United States by

the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign to review and advise on the final draft of the

project.

WORK EXPERICENCE

The working experience was very fruitful and enjoyable, one which I will cherish for my whole

student life.

In the office I was assigned all kinds of work such as indulge in design and planning, making details,

prepare working drawings, make 3D models, produce architectural renders and site visit ..

I was also asked to make site visits with the colleagues and chief architect, where I learned about the

latest in construction techniques. I was also asked to communicate with the client and the

consultant regarding the projects that is was working on.

My first task was a proposed Commercial mall at Sanskritik Sankul, Varanasi, which created my

interest and set the pace for the further works in office.

The projects undertaken in office were residential, offices, apartment, commercial buildings,

institutional, housing.

1. Proposed Commercial Development at Sanskritik Sankul, Varanasi

Type of Project – COMMERCIAL COMPLEX

This was a proposal for making a commercial development, without disturbing the other

existing buildings. My Contribution to this project was to from conceptual to the presentation

part.

2. Nursing Home at Bhojubeer, Varanasi

Type of Project – Nursing home / Hospital

This project was at completion when I went to the firm. So, I was given the responsibility to

do the elevational treatment and 3D visualisation for this project.

3. Proposed Residential Building for Dr. J.P. OJHA, Varanasi

Type of Project – Residential Building

This project was handled by me from the conceptual stage to the finalisation of the

drawings and the foundation was casted in front of me.

4. Proposed AWADH DHAM Group Housing at Durgakund, Varanasi

Type of Project – Group Housing

This project was also at the Completion Stage and I was given the responsibility to do

the elevational treatment to the building.
