SBI Buddy Wallet


Step -1: Open Google Play Store in your Smart Phone,

Then, search sbi buddy in search bar (see the image),

Click on the State Bank Buddy icon

How to Download SBI Buddy wallet in your smart phone (Good Speed Internet is required)


Step -2: Click on the Install icon

How to Download SBI Buddy wallet in your smart phone

For reference : This icon indicates the owner or developer of the State Bank Buddy app, Before installing any app, you can check the originality of app by looking this indicated icon as shown in the image.


Step -3: Click on the Open icon, Next screen will be open up to ask select the language

How to Download SBI Buddy wallet in your smart phone

then, select the language, English or Hindi(Which ever language you feel comfortable)


Step 4: Enter your Mobile Number, Email Address,

First name and Last Name, Date of Birth and then

click on Sign Up(Example shown in the

image)

After Click on Sign Up, One Time password (OTP) will be received on your mobile number for the

verification (See Next Steps)


Step 5:

1.Enter OTP

2. Set 4 digit (numeric) Password like ATM Pin,

(Repeat it for the next box for the confirmation )

3. Select Your security question, Answer it (Example shown in the image) ,

4. then Accept the terms and Conditions by moving the circle to the right side,

then click on Submit for the confirmation

(Example shown in the image)

Enter the OTP (One Time Password) here in the box


This is the Welcome Screen of “SBI Buddy Wallet”

That’s shows you have successfully create SBI Buddy wallet account on your mobile.

You an also say, this is a Digital Wallet or Digital Purse on your smart phone. Its working is similar to the

Physical purse we use in our day to day life.

For Ex: We put some money in the purse according to our requirements and then we spend this money to buy chocolates/ice-cream/stationary, mobile recharge and

other stuffs.

In the same way, we need to put money in this digital wallet as well so that we can use this digital purse any

where for the mobile-recharge/bill-payment/buying movie tickets/paying to vendors and many more.


Step 5: Click on

Add Money

Add Money to Digital Purse (SBI Buddy Wallet)

then, enter the amount which you want to add (for ex- 100 Rs, as shown in the

image)

then, Click on Debit Card

(means ATM card of any bank)

(In this presentation, I have used Debit card to

add money)or

Net Banking (If you are

registered user for net banking)


Step 6: Click on Continue,

Click on Debit card again

after that, pop up will open below in the

same screen to enter the details

of Debit Card (Shown in the next screen

shots)


Step 7: Enter the details from your

ATM Card

1.Enter the 16 digit Card Number

(It is written on the front of ATM Card)

2. Enter the Expiry Date or Valid Through date

(as shown on the ATM card)

3. Enter the Card Holder Name(as name written on the ATM card,

It has been observed that in many cases, Card Holder name is written Sate Bank

Customer ,then you can write “State bank Customer” in the Card Holder name Section)

then Click on Make Payment

This window will open


Step 8: Enter One Time Password (OTP) received on Your

Mobile, then

Click on Make Payment

(After Clicking it, 100 Rs will be deducted from your bank

account and 100 Rs will credited to your Digital Purse

(i.e SBI Buddy Wallet))

It will ask for OTP, Which has been sent to your

registered mobile number of bank account


Congratulation!You have Successfully added 100 Rs.

in your SBI Buddy Wallet!

And You will also received one message on your mobile of saying

that 100 Rs has been added in your SBI Buddy Wallet.

Now, you can use this wallet to pay money, recharge mobile and

other stuffs.


Step 1: Click on Pay Now

How to Pay Money to any Merchant/Vendor ?

(Vendor must use SBI Buddy Wallet to received the money)


It will ask to Enter Mobile number(vendor or to whom you want to pay

money)

Step 2: If vendor has QR code,

then click on camera to scan the QR code (It will automatically fetch

the merchant mobile number or name)

otherwise 1. Enter the

mobile number of vendor/merchant

s manually,

2. purpose of payments

(in Description section, for ex- Milk, Choclate, Gift) and

3. Enter the Amount you want

to Pay then click on

Submit (If you have any coupon code, then you can enter the code otherwise

you can skip the coupon code)


Step 3: Click on Continue

(You may fill the description again that the purpose of paying)

Enter the SBI Buddy Wallet 4 digit Pin to confirm the

payment, Click on Confirm


Congratulations!Payment is Successfully

Completed

You will receive a SMS of balance transferred and in the SBI Buddy wallet, 1 Rs. will be deducted.


Similarly,

1.You can send money to any of your friends

and relatives,

2.Recharge Bill and Payments

It is easy, fast and secure with 4 Digit Pin before final confirmation

of payments.


Quickly see, how to send money to your friends/relatives?

1. Click on Send Money

2. Enter the mobile number

of friends to whom you

want to send money(if it is saved in your phone

directory, then search the number by his name)


Mobile Number is entered

Step 3: Enter the Purpose of sending

Money (if you do not want to give description

then you may skip it)

Step 4: Enter the SBI Buddy Wallet 4 digit Pin for the

confirmation

( After click on Confirm, payment will be sent and your balance will be deducted

from your wallet as shown in the previous slides)


How to Recharge Mobile ?

Step 1: Click on Recharge and Bill Pay


Step 2: Enter Mobile Number, Select Operator and Circle, (If it fetches wrong mobile operator, you can manually select your mobile operator)

Step 3: Enter the Amount of Recharge, Click on Continue(it can be talk-time, SMS pack or internet Recharge,

You may click on Traffic Plans to see the talk time offer on your mobile number (As shown in the image))


Step 4: Verify the Mobile Number, Click on Pay Now, Click on Continue, Step 5: Enter the SBI Buddy Wallet 4 digit Pin to confirm the payment


Congratulations! Recharge has been successfully completed

This Message will received on your mobile.

Click on Confirm

Further, you can also check your transaction history, update your profile, change SBI Buddy 4 digit Pin, transfer wallet balance to your bank account and many

more(Some screen shots are attached to show you the facilities of SBI Buddy wallet)

Steps of Paytm WalletTo configure Paytm in your mobile, all steps are similar to the SBI Buddy wallet what we learnt in the

earlier slides. You can follow the instruction step by step in the next slides.

Step 1: Open Google Play Store from your

smart phone

Step 2:Type “Paytm” and click “Enter”

Click on Payment ,Wallet & Recharge Icon below


Step 3: Click on Install, Accept then click on Open Wallet


Step 3: Select language English/Hindi according to your

comfort mode, thenClick “Continue”

Step 4:You may allow or deny this

step


Similarly, you may allow or deny (This will not interrupt or refuse you to access of Paytm

Services)


Step 5:Enter Your

Mobile Number, Email

id(optional)and password

Click on Sign Up


Step 6: Enter the OTP which you received after click on Signup

(Wait for one minute if you do not received OTP)


This will be Initial Screen that will come up, that shows your account details with initial balance, Step 7: Click on Add Money


Step 8: Enter the Amount you want to

ADD in the wallet, then Click on Add Money

Step 9: Select the mode of payment gateway Debit card/Credit card or Net Banking,

(By default Debit card gateway will come up Enter the Amount you want to ADD in the wallet)

This is the web browser interface of adding money in Paytm. Due to some technical error in apps, I am showing it in web browser


Step 10: Enter the Debit card Details, Click on Pay Now


Step 11: Enter the One Time Password (OTP) which you received in your mobile, click on

Submit


This shows that your payment is completed and Paytm wallet is credited.

(You can see on the top your current updated Paytm wallet balance)


Recharge You Mobile using Paytm Wallet (New User 20 Rs Free Recharge Gift)Step 1: Click on Mobile

PrepaidStep 2: Enter your mobile number

and recharged amount 20 Rs., Click on Proceed to recharge


Step 3: Click on Have A Promo

Code

Step 4: Enter “FIRST20” in Promo Code, Click to Apply

Then Click on “Proceed to Pay 20 Rs”

Congratulations!Your recharge will be successful!


This is the summary of overall process of wallets configuration in your smart phone


So, we have learnt that How various Digital wallets Work, I am summarizing the concept of Digital Wallet, finding

some analysis below

Let’s assume, this is any Bank

such as SBI, PNB, Axis, OBC

etc.(I have considered SBI

bank to explain the concept)

This is user who

has account in

above bank.

This is different Digital Wallets like SBI Buddy, Paytm, Mobikwik and so on..

User can’t send money form Paytm wallet to other SBI Buddy wallet user, End to End user must require same company’s eWallet such as Paytm-Paytm, SBI Buddy-SBI Buddy etc. (UPI facility also solve this issue)

Load money to eWallet

Transfer wallet’s money back to bank

Account

No direct transaction between bank to bank

(UPI facility solve this issue)

Step-1 Download “BHIM” app from

Google Play Store

BHIM: Bharat Interface for Money


Step-2 Install and then Click on Open


Step-3Choose Language and Then Click on Next


Step-4Click on Next, Next and Lets Get Started


Step-5Click on Allow, Allow and and select Mobile Type

(if you are dual SIM user, select the SIM slot of mobile number which are registered with bank account)


Step-6Click on Complete action using Messaging,

wait for a minute, Mobile verification will complete in sometime(To verify Mobile number, Minimum balance should be required in your phone for SMS charge)


Step 6: Enter (set) 4 digit app password

(require to open the BHIM app),

Re-Enter the same password in the next


Step 7: Select the Bank

which you want to add ,Then click on Next

(In my case, I have used SBI bank account)

(Multiple account can also be added at later stage)


Step 8: Select any one Bank Account which you

want to use regularly

Then, for doing transaction , you need

to create 6 digit UPI PINClick on Set UPI PIN

UPI PIN is 6 digit pin which is need to create for financial transaction confirmation like ATM Pin which

user needs to keep it secret

It will automatically fetch your all account

associated with the registered mobile number


Step 9: Enter the last six digits

of your ATM card

Then enter Expiry or valid through date

Then, Enter OTP (One Time password will be

received)

Then Enter(Set/Create) Six digit UPI password


Step 10: Then Enter(Set/Create) Six digit UPI password

Re-Enter again,

Click on Submit,

Congratulations!

UPI PIN is successfully created


Click on Profile to check your virtual address(Your Virtual Address is automatically Created)

This is your Virtual

payment address

(which will be acting as an account number i.e your mobile number becomes

your bank account number if any other person is

registered on UPI, you need to only share this virtual

address to receive payments from any users)


Send Money to your any Friends/Relatives/Vendors using UPI

Step 1: Click on Send

Then, Enter the Mobile Number or Virtual Payment

Address of receiver


One you enter the Mobile number of any users, it will ask to verify whether this number is registered on any UPI service or not, then

Click on Verify

It will verify the UPI users and this screen will pop

up (as shown in the image)

Step 2: Enter the amount and remarks

(Remarks: purpose of payment like Grocery, Fee, Loan, Milk etc.)

then click on pay


Step 3:Enter UPI Pin to confirm your payment and then payment will be successfully completed.

Congratulation!


You can see the Transaction History


If receiver is not using any UPI app?

Step 1: Click on Send

Then, Click on this icon


Step 2: Click on Account + IFSCThen, enter the details of

beneficiary/receiver (to whom you want to send money)

then click on send

Enter the Amount, and Remarks, click on Pay, Enter the UPI PIN,

and then Submit(Your money will be transferred)


Step-1 Download “SBI Pay” app from Google Play Store

In the Same way, ALL other UPI app work, I am also giving demonstration on SBI Pay UPI


Step-2Open “SBI Pay

App” and Click on Accept


Step-1 Download “SBI Pay” app from Google Play Store

Step-3Click on “Yes”


Step-4 UPI Registration:

Choose your unique id such as Aadhar no. or mobile no. as Unique Virtual address

thenEnter your First Name, Last

Name

For Example, This is my unique virtual

address with mobile number i.e.

“8586968801@sbi” which I can remember

easily


Step-5 UPI Registration:Enter your First

Name, Last name, Email Id, choose Secret Question, Select bank, Click on check box, then

click on “Next”


Step-6UPI

Registration:Verify your

information and Click on “Register”


Step-7UPI

Registration:Enter the Six Digit

Password and Answer of Secret Question then

Click on“Set App

Password”


Step-8Open SBI Pay App

and Enter the Six Digit

App Password


Step-9Set UPI Pin which is required for all

transaction like ATM Pin

Click on “Set UPI PIN”

If you ignore, later you can set UPI PIN in Account Management

sections before starting any transaction


Step-10Select Account

From Drop Down List,

Enter the Last 6 digits of Debit card Details,

(See your debit card) then

Enter the Expiry Date

then Click on “Submit”


Congratulation! Your UPI Registration is Completed.

Welcome to the Unified payment of Interface of SBI

Click on “Pay”

to send money to other

UPI users


Select Your Account From

Drop Down List (Drop down list will be shown to you only when

you have multiple account)


If You Select Payee Address type is UPI then

Enter 1. Payee Virtual Address

2. Payee name3. Remarks (Purpose of

Sending),4. Transaction Amount,

5. Click on ”Pay”

Before final confirmation, it will ask for MPIN then after entering the MPIN then

payment will be successful.

Other wise,

If You Select Payee Address type is other mode then

Enter 1. Payee Account Number

2. Payee IFSC code3. Remarks (Purpose of

Sending),4. Transaction Amount,

5. Click on ”Pay”

Enter option 7(UPI PIN )

New users require to first create UPI pin for doing any

kind of transaction using USSD service


Step 3: Select option 1 to set UPI

pin


Step 4:

Enter the Debit card last six digit number and expiry

date/valid through date after single space as shown in

example

After Click on Send, it will ask to enter any six digit number to create UPI

Pin

(Remember, UPI Pin is needed to confirm the final payment similar to like ATM pin confirmation. So, it is advised to everyone that do not disclose this six digit number to

any one)

Then after, UPI pin will be created.


Lets Send Money to your friendStep 1: Dial

*99#

Select(type) option 1 to

send money,

Click on “Send”


Step 2: Select the mode

through which you want to

transfer money, let

select (type) 2(Use ‘2’ option only when beneficiary is

using any UPI app or BHIM app)

andClick on “Send”


Step 3:

Enter the virtual payment address of receiver

(as shown in example)


Step 4: Enter the Amount in Rs.

Click on Send

If virtual payment address is correct then this window will pop up

otherwise technical error will be flashed


Step 5: Enter the 6 digit UPI Pin to

confirm the payment

Then, click on Send

Congratulation!You have successfully

sent the money to receiver.You may save the contact or exit.


Let Transfer money through beneficiary Mobile number and MMID(work for old user)

Step 1: Dial *99#

Step 2: Select option 1 to Send Money

Step 3: Select option 5 to send money using MMID and

Mobile number (This service is available for only old users who have MMID

number)
