Introduction to Training Establishment

• Started at 1858 by British Government

• Main purpose was transport goods than passengers

• Major transport service provider and only rail transport organization

• There are 03 main workshops in SLR (Rathmalana, Dematagoda & Maradana)

• Workshop mainly functioning with maintaining and designing

• Ratmalana workshop works with related to mechanical field



Chief Mechanical Engineers Work Shop - Rathmalana

• All the maintenance and repairing of

locomotives are done by this workshop

• Use lots of sub workshops for operations

• We got an experience from workshop
