DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION FOR STEEL AND CONCRETE STRUCTURES IN PETROLEUM INDUSTRY OBJECTIVES: These series of webinars is intended to overview modern and effective procedures for the design for steel and reinforced concrete structures in oil and gas, refinery , power generation and industrial projects in general. The course will be containing extensive workshop as a hand calculation for reinforced concrete elements which use in oil and gas industry as pipe rack and ring beam under steel tanks, foundations under horizontal and vertical vessels in plant process. This course will increase the knowledge and assist in using new tools for designing, reviewing or managing the design for new project or modify the existing one. Moreover, the design of foundation under all types of vibrating equipment (Power turbine, pump, compressors and gas turbine generator) will cover in this online seminar with examples from real projects to enable the attendees design or review design the foundation. The course will present the ways of repair and the recent method for implementing the maintenance plan. Session 1.2:Concrete and steel Storage tank design according to API650 with tank foundation design 1:30hr

Description:

In this session the first step is to describe all the types of tanks that is uses in oil and gas project, petrochemical and refinery. Then the design for the steel and concrete tanks will be discussed and also discuss the capability of the structural engineer to do the design for steel tanks and the required from the static equipment engineer. The effect of wind and earthquake calculation for the tanks will be discussed. The precaution in tanks settlement and design of the ring beam will be discussed by a practical example.

Session 1.3: Design foundation under horizontal vessel (Separator, heat exchanger etc.) 1:30hr

Description:

In this session the first step is to describe all the types of pressure vessel that is used in most of projects in petroleum industry.

The load that affect the pressure vessel will be discussed and a practical example of designing the foundation under horizontal pressure vessel as a separator and heat exchanger.

Description:

In this session the vertical tower is widely used in most oil and gas plant and also in other industrial plants. It is very critical equipment due to its height and effect of wind load and earthquake is critical for this type of vessel. All the load and method of design the hexagonal foundation will be discussed in addition to the special design for the anchor bolts with a practical example.

Topic 2: Foundation Under Vibrating Machines

This topic will be consisting in two sessions the first webinars will discuss the repair and maintenance of the reinforced concrete structure and how to diagnosis the defects and the reason of cracks in the foundation in the plant. The methods of repair and the temporary support will be discuss. The integrity management system is now used in most oil and gas companies so the principal of this management system with the risk based inspection will be discuss and illustrated through a workshop for a real plant.
